Get a grappling hook with Just Cause 3’s Collector’s Edition

Yesterday, we told you of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Collector’s Edition which seems to include a functional fridge to keep your cache of energy drinks in, or to use as a repository for cool things to apply to your skin when a 13 year old gives you a “sick burn” by telling you he’s just done with your mum.

It’s a bit on the ludicrous side – but I think collector’s Editions have to be on the silly side these days to entice consumers to buy them. The Just Cause 3 special edition is indeed silly, coming with a possibly functional, though not likely to get you up the side of a building display version of a grappling Rico’s hook. Yes, you can pretend you’re Rico by running about with your very own grappling hook.

Here’s what it contains:

  • Day One Edition of Just Cause 3
  • Replica version of Rico’s famous grappling hook
  • Weaponized Vehicle Pack in-game content
  • 24-inch by 24-inch poster map of the Mediterranean archipelago of Medici
  • 32-page, hardcover art book

It’ll cost $109, which by the time it gets here and on to our own shelves will likely cost significantly more. It may not keep your drinks cool, but if you’re the foolhardy sort with expendable income you may be able to use the Just Cause ™ grappling hook to grab drinks from your Call of Duty ™ fridge.

I expect Just Cause 4’s CE to come with a parachute and a lump of plastic explosive. Just Cause is coming to turn your Michael Bay dreams in to a reality on December 1.

A mother is walking with her five year-old son through the zoo when they reach the elephant cage. The boy looks with amazement at the large beast and asks his mom, “What’s that long thing hanging down from the elephant?”
His mother replies “That’s his trunk”.
The little boy goes, “I know that, the thing to the other side of the trunk.”
The mom replies “Oh, that’s his tail”.
The boy goes, “I know that! No, what’s that big thing hanging down in between the trunk and tail.”
The mother, wanting to avoid this subject all together, just says “Oh, that’s nothing” and whisks him off to the next exhibit.
Two weeks later he goes to the same zoo with his dad. They are at the elephant exhibit and he asks his dad “What’s that long thing hanging down from the elephant?”
The dad replies, “That’s his trunk.”
“No, behind that!” says the kid.
“Oh, well that’s his tail” replies the father.
“NO, in-between the trunk and the tail!” yells the kid.
His dad replies, “Son, that’s the elephant’s penis.”
The kid, a bit puzzled, tells his dad, “But Mom said it was nothing.”
His father replied, “Son, that’s because your mom’s been spoiled.”

I’m not complaining about the size (That’s what she said), it’s just that it’s a display version grappling hook, i.e. not a functional one.

It’s no fridge, but I don’t need any collectors item to pick this game up on release.
