Wow those guys from Good Old Games are good old guys. Not only do they offer fully DRM-free games, classic games revived from the past and insane deals on new games (including The Witcher series), they are now giving away another game totally for free. The deal only lasts until Friday though, so go grab it now.
Over on GoG.com they are giving away Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000. What does that include?
Aliens vs Predator Classic 2000 features the Colonial Marine, Alien and Predator Campaigns and the frenetic single-player Skirmish mode from the original title: Alien Versus Predator Gold Edition, which was released to massive acclaim in 2000. It’s been updated for modern systems and includes support for Xbox 360 Controller. The three most ferocious species in the universe in a bloodthirsty battle for the ultimate prize: survival. Take your pick: be a Colonial Marine, a Predator or an Alien. Fight through suspense-filled environments: from starships and space stations to colonial bases and eerie planetscapes. One wrong move turns you from hunter to prey. Deathmatch, Species Deathmatch, Predator Tag, and Cooperative modes avait for you in the multiplayer section!
How do you get the game for free? All you need to do is sign up for the next stage of the GoG Galaxy beta tests. Yes, they’re actually giving away a free game so that they can test the multiplayer component of their Steam-like client, Galaxy – I’m assuming that they want everyone to have this game so that we can all jump into multiplayer maps and know that we all have the same game. So, get on over there and sign up – Galaxy looks like a really cool client and might finally make me more likely to load up my GoG.com library. I’m sorry, I’m a sucker for the social and collectible nature of Steam – once GoG.com gets it, too, I’ll probably find myself taking advantage of their sales and games a whole lot more.

I’m keen to see Galaxy. If it integrates nicely with Steam I will be very happy.

GOG has really picked itself up over the past few years, don’t really use GOG but seeing the Movie’s section really intrigues me, Galaxy I’m unsure if it’ll catch on, But still wanna see try it.

Man, the countless hours I spent hunting as a predator in the demo, as well as the full version, oh man!

I loved playing as the Alien once I got the hang of running on ceilings. Never got tired of ambushing the puny humans in the darkness.

Had to play the Alien campaign with break in between each mission; it is hell if you get motion sickness.
Best fun ever, few buddies on a LAN fending off waves of Aliens on the canyon map that has a bunker at the end.

Closest an FPS ever came to fending off the Alien horde; still patiently waiting for an epic Starship Troopers game to be made.

Oh hell, I love GoG. And now I’m happy to try galaxy. And now I have YET ANOTHER GAME in my backlog.
I never did get into Aliens vs Predator, movies, books, comics or games. Probably because I never really got into Predator … an I have no idea why not. Probably was too young when it came out (87 wasn’t it? would have been 10) and I just never got around to rectifying that error.

AvP introduced me to the awesomeness of the Predator. I promptly went back and re-watched the movies and was fascinated even more!

I still feel like Predator deserves its own game, going on what the first movie was about. You play as the Predator and need to kill soldiers and other people in the forest. How can that not be great?

That’s good. Prefect game to own for life. When WW3 goes down and the worlds internet shuts down. You can install and play The Witcher 3 happily, while the world dies around you.

On a different note, if you complete this survey on GMG you get a free copy of XCOM:Enemy Unknown.

I’m stuck in Shadow Of Mordor now, and still playing Valiant Hearts on the side.
Shadow of Mordor is great, but now having spent some decent time on it I’m starting to feel more and more how it’s very much Batman Arkham City in a Lord of the Rings outfit.
Not a bad thing, I’m enjoying it, it just doesn’t feel very fresh and new.
