Get Goat Simulator courier in Dota 2

goata dota 2

Goat Simulator was a surprise hit last year with people going crazy for that silly goat and its bizarre physics. It’s so adorable and fun, that it’s slowly creeping its way into other games. It’s now coming to Dota 2 and looks far too adorable as a courier.

Over on the Steam Workshop, you can vote to see the Goat Simulator Courier in Dota 2. It may sound like a silly gimmick, and it totally is, but just check out this video for it.

The similarities between Pudge’s hook and the adorable Goat’s tongue really ties it all together for me. Plus, why not let the goat be either a normal or a flying courier – the rules of physics and organics need not apply.

And this, my dears, is why Dota 2 makes a ridiculous amount of money. This courier probably won’t cost you an arm and a leg, but tons of people will dish out for the asking price, making the creator and Valve even more money. By letting the community contribute to these sorts of creations, Dota 2 is able to keep its finger on the pulse and have some really cool elements included in the game without needing to employ a ridiculous amount of developers to ensure all the latest fads make it into the game.

Is a goat courier a reason to go play Dota 2? Probably not. But it might lure some fans back to the game, and at least it’s reminding everyone to go play. I’m quite lucky that I can go on Steam without getting Dota 2 invitations. I’m also lucky that going on PSN means I get Helldivers invites – and that makes me happy.

Toxic is a very mild way of calling it…..

Guys, it’s only the bottom of the pit which is toxic, once you get to lvl 80 or so, the people tend to be nice ( though you do get that one guy at least once per night )

So you’re saying that the people on the RSA channel are all under lvl 80? Cause those toxic non-humans are all packing thousands of hours…

Well, I kind of just commented incase people want to get into DotA2

I bet there’s quite an intricate system to the matchmaking, but out of my own experience, after about lvl 40 you see less scum, and more decent people ( if you don’t abandon, you won’t get match-made with guys that DO abandon and/or rage-quit, for example ).

Keep on reporting people for comm-abuse / bad behaviour and you see less of them…
It also helps that by then you sort of learn the nicks of the regulars and their general attitudes.

Also, generally at the end of each game, you can rate a teammate, and chances are higher to be match-made with them based on your review ( if you’re searching for a game at the same time, etc ) – or at least that’s what I’ve heard :/

I’m just trying to make a case for the people in the DotA 2 community that aren’t complete assholes ( I might be sometimes, I don’t know, I try not to be ) … I know there are some decent guys AND girls out there.

Personally I think there’s more nice people than toxic assholes. It’s just that it’s easier to remember that 1 person ruined a game for 9 others. Lots of cool people that don’t care how badly you suck as long as you communicate, are friendly and aren’t a dick. I’m finding a lot less Afrikaans people lately though 😛

I still play Dota 2. But I prefer servers outside of SA. The frequency of getting those assholes is a lot less than in SA. Local players can learn a thing or two when it comes to etiquette.

There’s toxicity in every scene. I think Valve/Dota is doing pretty well in terms of making it a nicer environment to play. Still could have improvements though.

Also, now you’ve got Toxicity by SOAD in your head. “What, do you own the world? Disorder, disorder”
