While most of your time is probably spent killing all your friends and screaming at people for feeding, the world’s most popular MOBA also features some cool music. There’s a lot that goes into making the soundtrack, and you can even grab it for free.
Frequencies shares the story of making the soundtrack. They explain the importance of the music:
Music and games share an intertwined history stretching back to neon-soaked arcades and dusty living rooms crowded with tangles of twisting plastic controller cords. From chiptune scores to the sweeping symphonies of expansive fantasy worlds, the relationship shared between games and music simultaneously elevates both art forms. Frequencies is a behind-the-scenes look at that harmony at Riot; the moment when creativity, collaboration, and passion collide to forge and reinforce story through music.
They made an entire documentary about it. Here’s the trailer for it.
Of course, for those of you who want the tracks themselves, you can head on over to Riot Games and grab them. They are absolutely free at that link, as compared to if you choose to purchase them through iTunes. In fact, there are plenty of ways to throw money at the soundtrack, ranging from Amazon to Google Play, but I know you all like the free stuff, even if it is just an MP3 and not fully awesome quality.
Do you like when games offer their soundtracks? I adore certain soundtracks to games, but I can’t say that League of Legends has anything memorable on offer. Unless you count that Curse of the Sad Mummy song.

You realise that your “corrections” are in fact correct, merely repeating what I’ve already written? 😛

I love soundtracks in general, so if it’s free, I pick it up. Thanks for the info.

Amazing bunch of tracks. Riot Games is easily one of the coolest gaming companies around. Their Promotional CG work is astounding, their music tracks are incredible and they give away so much free stuff, and run a F2P game the way its supposed to be run (optional microtransations). Just goes to show if you make a game worthwhile to play, people will still pay for cool shit.
