Get ready Cape Town, MainGaming has a few tournaments in store for you!

Who says that Jozi gets all the fun, when it comes to video game tournaments and competitions? Well prepare yourself Cape Town, as MainGaming is bringing the party down to the mother city, for a weekend of fun, as some big prizes are going to be up for grabs in the FIFA, Tekken and Call of Duty competitions.

It’s all taking place at the Canal Walk Shopping Centre, at the Musica Mega Store, from March 31 to April 1, with prizes valued at over R8000. In addition, the top three players from the FIFA 12 tournament will get a chance to compete in the MainGaming Interactive challenge with 125 other players, with a chance to win the grand prize of R25 000.

Here’s a rundown of the events taking place over those two days.

Tekken 6 Tournament

Registration will be from 10-11 on April 1st, with an entry fee of R60. Prizes include a copy of the game and a fight-stick valued at R2000 for the top fighter. For all the rules, match formats and other gameplay queries, head on over here, to the official page.

FIFA 12 Tournament

Registration is from 10-11 on March 31, with an entry fee of R80. Prizes include entry for the top three into the FIFA 12 grand final, where players can stand a chance to win a Samsung TV and R25 000 in cash, amongst other prizes.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Tournament

Registration is from 1PM until 2PM on, with an R80 registration fee on April 1. Prizes include a Tritton headset and games. For more details on the rules and match formats, head on over to the official page here.

Fun for the whole family right? So prepare for an onslaught of football, fists and frags at the end of this month, oh lovers of the flat mountains!
