DiRT 3 hits shelves tomorrow morning (Yes, even in South Africa!) and while we will have our own review ready as soon as it arrives and we can jump on it, reviews from overseas have already been unleashed on the internet.

Let’s take a look at what the world is saying about Codemasters’ latest dirty dancer.

The scores are mostly looking very positive, with scores ranging from a minimum of 75/100 (5 points lower than the second lowest score and the only score below 80 so far mind you) to a maximum of 95/100 with 9 out of 16 scores scoring in or above the 90% mark.

Videogamer (90/100) seems to have summed it up pretty well with the excerpt from it’s conclusion posted on Metacritic, saying:

It’s got the looks, the style, the superb sense of speed, and spot-on handling model that blurs the line between sim and arcade. It also introduces Gymkhana and with it excellent potential for players becoming addicted to going for new high scores. What it doesn’t do is innovate in the racing game genre, generally making refinements where needed rather than redefining what’s expected in a modern racer.

Here’s a couple of the other scores and their links from major sites and/or magazines:

Games Master UK / CVG – 94

GameTrailers – 92

Official Xbox Magazine UK – 90

Game Informer – 88

IGN – 85

Guardian – 80

So, I don’t know about you but that’s looking pretty sweet to me and as we all know, unlike games like Gran Turismo and Forza, rally games and especially any ones from Codemasters are a lot more accessible to those who are not usually too keen on the simulated automotive experience.

In other words, you don’t gots to be likin’ de cars to be lovin’ da DiRT.

Score are looking pretty slick though, so this will be a definite buy for a lot of you out there. Remember to keep an eye out for our DiRT 3 review soon.
