Wildstar characters

Are you looking forward to the new MMORPGs coming this year? WildStar is one of them, and it’s almost available for pre-order, and we got a release date.

That’s right, from next week (19 March 2014) you can pre-order the Sci-Fi friendly WildStar. The actual game will launch 3 June 2014, but if you pre-order you can even get in early. In fact, pre-ordering gives you a bunch of benefits:

  • Exclusive Rocket House
  • Exclusive Housing Trophy
  • Exclusive In-Game Title: “Chosen of the Progenitors”
  • Access to Beta Weekends
  • 3 Day Head Start
  • In-game Storage Bag

Although not available yet, from next week you can head on over to our store and pre-order through one of our affiliates to help us keep food on Geoff’s table – he won the food lottery this week so Darryn and I will be forced to subsist on air and kind comments.

I enjoyed playing WildStar when I got my chance to preview the Beta. It was surprisingly fun and quirky – I was rather disappointed when Beta weekends would end and I couldn’t run around with my crazy character anymore. If you’ve been looking forward to the game, I’d recommend grabbing this pre-order next week. This way, you get immediate access to the Beta weekends, plus a three day head start, meaning that you get to start playing at the end of May.

It’s actually not that far away – I wonder if they will open up the game for open beta before then, or just rely on giving away tons of keys and getting enough pre-orders to stress test the servers. I hope they test everything enough; the last thing any MMORPG needs is to crash at launch.

When did it become a thing to make Playboy come up with it in the first place? Is it linked to the notion that rabbits fuck all the time?!

It’s probably because of their logo

Got that, was asking WHY they have it as a logo which then made it a thing…

          • Alien Emperor Trevor

I think the difference comes in where Japanese really want to shag bunnies, whereas Chinese will grind up bunnies & cover themselves in the resulting paste before attempting to shag for days because that’s how medicine works.

I am a bit confused… Isn’t this game also subscription based? I get the whole C.R.E.D.D thing, but don’t you use in game gold to buy this? And then you still need to pay a sub to get the gold to buy the C.R.E.D.D?

Seems like an illusion of choice O_o

Yeah, I noticed that too, it’s a business model that seems to work for EvE, hopefully it works for Wildstar (I keep wanting to type LoneStar)… and they give you 30 days to earn your CREDD.

Imagine WoW having that business model… they may have kept some of the 5 million players they’ve lost lol.

WoW’s already a distant memory for some of us. Sadly, apart from GW2, there’s not been anything else fresh and interesting on the market to play. Everything else just feels like a WoW clone. Which, when you are bored of WoW, is not a good thing.

          • VampyreSquirrel

            March 13, 2014 at 10:41

So true. My problem is I’m a total WoW addict… if I get the chance to go back, I do, and I think Wildstar will cure me of that… hopefully entirely… and then I’ll be a Wildstar Addict lol

          • ToshZA

            March 13, 2014 at 10:47

Yeah I’m worried about the Wildstar addiction myself. It looks fresh and fun, while not breaking the formula too much. I personally think GW went a little too different for my tastes. I still like the holy trinity thing, the focus that gives you both as a player and as a team for dungeons and raids and that. That’s one thing WoW still had going for it, their encounters were always epic. But there was nothing else. The world was dead, everything was just a rush to max level and the dungeons and raids or pvp.

Wildstar looks to fix the rest of that stuff, while not messing with what isn’t broke.
