Everyone knows the story of Goku by now. He’s pretty much the Japanese Jesus and Superman, all rolled into one character and…wait, hang on that may just be everything I’ve ever wanted in life:
Anyway, it’s nice to know that a fella who has the power to split a planet with a stray fart happens to be a fairly decent guy. Goku’s defining character trait is that his power hasn’t corrupted him, only made him incredibly dense and short-sighted when it comes to fights. For the love of Beerus Goku, stop letting your opponents power up this always ends in disaster and needing to wish Krillin back to life.
Here’s a question for you: What if Goku was actually evil? You’d get Goku Black, a character who I am convinced happens to be named as a tribute to AC/DC. Check him out in action below:
So what’s the story, morning glory? Simple enough: Goku Black isn’t Goku. To be more precise, he’s actually Supreme Kai apprentice Zamasu, who stole the body of the present day Goku and decided to rid the universe of all mortals alongside a future incarnation of himself. JAPAN! It’s not the first time that Goku has had an out of body experience (having experienced just that with Captain Ginyu in the Frieza saga), but Zamasu’s keen mind was able to make full use of Goku’s body and even push his power limits further with a new transformation: Super Saiyan Rose.
Synchronising his godly aura with Goku’s Saiyan heritage, Zamasu’s ultimate transformation was easily on par with Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue forms, but with even less of a stamina drain thanks to his godly status and training. Top notch stuff really. A great villain then, and just one of many many characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ so far.
