Just a month ago, we had to report the sad news that GSC Game World, the Ukrainian developer behind the underrated (but unoptimised and buggy as hell) post-apocalyptic RPG FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R was to close its doors, leaving the chances of there being a numbered sequel to the game in the range of “slim to none.”
The last we’d heard from them, they said "We will do our best to continue. However, at this moment, nothing is certain."
Not only does GSC continue to exist, but they’ve confirmed that they’ve resumed work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, the misnumbered fourth game in the series.
“The Stalker team is extremely happy! Why? Because we are continuing work on Stalker 2 after the holidays,” GSC said on its official S.T.A.L.K.E.R Facebook page.
So, some light – for fans of the series – who’ve been staring down Metro’s tunnel.
