Gran Turismo 5

Kazonuri Yamauchi from Polyphony Digital has been chatting to venturebeat about their little known upcoming racer, Gran Turismo 5 and one of the questions asked was around how much of the PS3’s power will GT5 be using compared to say Uncharted 2.

Yamauchi was only happy to reply that GT5 will be using around 80% of the PS3’s power which is about the same as Uncharted 2.

I guess someone forget to tell him that Uncharted 2 apparently used 100% of the PS3’s power and was only possibly on the PS3.

There is still no release date for GT5 so maybe Kazonuri has enough time to fill up that extra 20% with something truly awesome.

i don’t understand news/statements like this. does it really make a difference how my of the machine’s processing power is used?
if you can produce a game of equal graphical prowess yet using 50%, then surely that’s more impressive? :dizzy:

I agree. They always state, WE USED 1000000000% of the systems power and maxed it out. Then along comes another developer giving the the same game stating it was like 60% of the power doesnt make sense to me really
