Gran Turismo 5 vs Forza 3 – Yes again

GT5Forza3

It seems that the world cannot get enough of the comparisons between GT5 and Forza 3 and we now have a new one comparing the new Academy version with Forza 3.

Personally it’s starting to feel a little old and all these comparisons are just showing that the two games look very similar. By the time GT5 is finally released I would expect it to be better looking than Forza 3 but the Forza guys will then just turn around and point out the huge discrepancy in development times.

This argument isn’t going to end with these two games and the more accurate comparison could come in with GT5 and Forza 4 which are both going to be released in 2011… I just made that up but I think it’s likely.

the truth of the matter is that both have flaws, and most importantly, cannot give you the feeling of driving a real car around a track. no matter what anyone tries to tell you.
you can polish shit, but its still shit.

both are fun driving games under the pretext of a serious racing title… both look incredible, and both deserve any accolades they can garner. the tit for tat and feather ruffling detracts from what should be excellent racing games.

The fact of the matter is that GT5 can be a waaay better than the Forza games. Doesn’t change the fact that for the past 2.5 years, the xbots have been playing on-line and having a blast and the Ps3 people have been saying “just you wait!”.

Digital Polyphony are simply taking too long, to release a comparable product rather than something that is leaps and bounds ahead.

i prefer it if developers took their time to ship games that are damn near perfect, instead of beating the competition to market. i find it unacceptable that you buy a game and as soon as you put it in, you are greeted with a patch (here’s looking at you mw2).

not that turn10 released a buggy game, in fact they did a fantastic job in a short (read shorter) period of time. pd are taking their time for a reason, and if the game works well, then the waiting time is justified. surely?

it’s only worth the wait if the faster-to-market product is markedly inferior. From all accounts it looks like the two products are comparible.

Well, at least for the track racing part. The fact that GT5 also holds the licence for WRC and Nascar does sway the balance somewhat.

Not a Nascar fan, but having a Forza-like driving game with some rally driving sounds awesome!

This was a physics demo not a graphics one right?

So aren’t we only supposed to be comparing how it plays not what it looks like?

The new GT5 Demo is just plain horrible, especially so since it is to “show off” the physics model.
I have driven many different kinds of car over the last 20 years, both on and off the track and can categorically say that nothing has ever handled as badly or as unpredictably as these 2 Z’s. Not a good ad for Nissan cars either is it?
Goinna buy myself a 360 and Forza for Xmas. I’ve finally given up on GT5. I bought my PS# last Xmas just for this game. Waste of time and money!

Enjoy Forza 3! JonnySD not everyone enjoys challenges or likes to learn new things, i admit forza 3 is better because the graphics are easier and i can make a corner at over 100km an hour without spinning. When you get older, you need less challenging games, so that you feel rewarded playing them.

Hint> Use a wheeel, apply real world principles of racing, pay attention to your speed this is the hardest gt will get, its the competition of a life time, so its gonna be for real race drivers not casual drivers. Forza 3 is a very definitive game for casual racers, it rewinds the game for you, and helps you turn its the perfect game for you. The Game also has beautiful trees to look at and skidmarks so when you driving at 200km an hour you can appreciate all the inticate detail 😀
