There are a lot of rumours floating around about Gran Turismo 6 as the moment with previous rumours of the titles announcement date coming and going without any sign of the much anticipated game. However this latest rumour could be very interesting indeed.
Gamechup has noticed that a Nordic retailer, CDON, has had GT6 up for pre-order for quite some time on the PlayStation 3. However over the weekend they also added a pre-order spot for Gran Turismo 6 on the PlayStation 4.
If they are correct with this it would mean that GT6 will be one of just a handful of games (ignoring annualised sports titles) to be released on different generations of platforms at the same time. It would also mean the development team have been working double time to make this a possibility, something I can’t imagine happening after the huge delays that Gran Turismo 5 endured.
However it would be a great move for Sony as they will likely want to keep the PS3 running for quite a while still and Gran Turismo is still a console mover and will give them a nice push upon its release.

Impossible unless SONY are planing on releasing the PS3 into 2018.
REMEMBER it took 5.5. years to make GT5? Unless GT6 is nothing more than DLC with a faster frame rate and more cars. In Fact expect the next gen to be nothing more than MILK AND COOKIE DLC EXTENDED CUT HYBRID generation 7.5.

GT5 required an entire new game framework and the manual porting of a thousand cars into the new format. GT5 had a pretty boring single player experience because 99% of their time went into the framework itself.
GT6 will very likely use the tech developed for GT5, but seeing as most of the work is completed and polished on the framework side, they will focus on graphic improvements and actual content (story/cars/tracks/multiplayer).
Having the game run on both PS3 and PS4 is probably not much of a challenge. The PS3 version would probably look like GT5 (PS3 is only so powerful), while the PS4 version will probably have high resolution textures and much better effects (thanks to todays graphics cards and DX11).

I have always been a big fan of gran turismo and I found this article extremely interesting to read, so for all those GT fans out there, this article is a must see. Sure there are a lot of racing games on the market but none of them are as exciting to play as gran turismo is.
