Grant Hinds interviews Eric Osborne about Destiny

Last year at Gamescom Grant Hinds got to sit down with Eric Osborne, the Bungie community manager, to have a chat about Destiny and all the things that we can expect to see when the game is released later this year.

Oddly enough though, I completely lost this interview until the weekend so while it’s not really brand new the game isn’t out yet so it is still valid.

What I do find interesting in this interview is when Eric starts talking about the public spaces in the games where the viewpoint changes to third person and you can mingle with the other players in the world. At these spots you can repair your equipment and setup raid parties.

But what’s also nice is that you can skip these public areas entirely and play the game as purely a single player story experience.

Take a look at the video above and make sure you give us a thumbs up so we can feed our kids this month… because it works like Facebook right? A million likes feeds a starving village or something?

I’ve noticed a huge uptick in Destiny marketing at the moment which leads me to believe we are about to hear exactly when the much anticipated beta is going to kick off.

Here are a few instagrams that Bungie have released to tease their upcoming game that is getting me a little over excited.

But wait that’s not all, Bungie have also just revealed that Destiny is going to cater for cross generational saves. So if you pick up a copy of the game on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 and plug 100 hours into it you don’t have to be depressed when you find a brand new console under your Christmas tree.

Granted it’s from the same family of course.

Tyson Green from Bungie had the following to say

“A lot of people are going to buy Destiny on PS3 or Xbox 360 and then get a PS4 for Christmas. Don’t tell me I wasted those last 100 hours there. So we’re really interested in supporting that. “

Unfortunately cross platform transfers aren’t supported but it isn’t Bungie’s fault as that feature is restricted by the platform holders themselves. Which makes sense. If you put 100 hours into Destiny on your PS3 then Sony would definitely prefer you to stay in the family so they would make it harder to leave.

That poor kitten is about to pass out in fear.
Those dogs aren’t in the least frightened, well except the 1 that got slapped.
