Kind of a big deal

This weekend’s StarCraft 2 Invitational will be shoutcasted by some of South Africa’s best. Etienne “Celestial” Nel and Kyle “Congo” Wolmarans will partner up to bring us the most exciting and awesome shoutcasting throughout the tournament.

23 year old Etienne “Celestial” Nel boasts a successful career as not only a shoutcaster but StarCraft 2 player. Previously a member of the GamerNET team, Nel worked his way up the StarCraft 2 ranks in the last two years, going from the very bottom Division in the Do Gaming League to the very top, Premier Division. He quickly became a favourite to be the Do Gaming League Champion in 2012. Nel is currently ranked eight in his group in the First Division of the Do Gaming League, playing under the Deviation Gaming banner. He has been an active StarCraft 2 shoutcaster for matches played in the Do Gaming League, has some Barcraft experience and is the lead shoutcaster for the Deviation Gaming/Techgames Heart of the Swarm cups this year.

Kyle “Congo” Wolmarans is a well known shoutcaster in the community, most famous for his Dota 2 shoutcasting in the Do Gaming League. This 22 year old started his broadcasting career after just trying it out alongside another well known caster Ben “Noxville” Steenhuisen, Polarfluke founder and mastermind Matt “fluke” Merks advised him to take it up seriously and he has never looked back. Wolmarans shoutcasted the five weeks of MyGaming Dota 2 SECS this year and has had his eye on shoutcasting the StarCraft 2 Invitational this weekend. Wolmarans currently resides in Port Elizabeth and will be making a worth while trip to Johannesburg for his very first live event.

But these guys won’t be the only shoutcasters this weekend, gamers who entered the shoutcasting competition and didn’t make the selection will still have the opportunity to show off what they’ve got. We’ve had some awesome entries to the competition and they are all invited to do some shoutcasting throughout the groupstages.

RSVP here for the event and come check out what sure to be one of the most amazing events this year.
