Realistic damage in racing games is vitally important to me as that is generally the part of the game that I notice the most and the one thing that has me really worried about GT5 is that the damage shows to date has been incredibly poor and unrealistic.
However there is hope as Polyphony Digital’s CEO, Kazunori Yamauchi, has been quoted as saying.
“GT5 cars will be smashed to smithereens in Nascar. Featuring up to one bolt.â€
The first part is pretty self explanatory while the second didn’t seem to translate so well. I am hoping he is saying that the physics runs all the way down to the bolts that hold the car together.
Crash damage to that detail would really be something to write home about.
He also went on to say he will announce a launch date soon and I would E3 is the obvious time for the release date to be announced.
