Well, it seems that this year we weren’t cool enough to be invited to any GTA V events, but I blame that on the fact that Geoff once drove over Dan Houser’s foot while at E3. The game has been previewed to many an outlet recently, with the embargo for that info dropping last night. Here’s a slew of new info, pics and posters for the upcoming sandbox.
It looks like the world of GTA V is going to be even more distracting than usual, as wandering through a city will be filled with activities such as yoga, biking and golf according to Gamespot.
Polygon says that players will indeed be able to switch between the three protagonists, but only when in free-roaming mode, not between missions. This feature can be done anywhere in the game, even if Trevor, Michael or Franklin happen to be at opposite ends of the map.
The trio of troublemakers can also activate a special ability in the game, from Max Payne style slow-motion for Michael, to Franklin being able to apply that same skill to driving or Franklin losing control and going on a rampage, berserker style.
The three characters also now have a series of ratings in different skill categories. They are: stamina, shooting, strength, stealth, flying, driving, mechanic, lung capacity.
GTA V will now also include a massive underwater area, which can be accessed with scuba gear that is stored on boats according to CVG. This area will have treasure hidden beneath the waters, but while it won’t exactly finance an operation, it will provide a substantial incentive to prepare for the rest of the game. Also, you’ll be competing against other NPC divers, so prepare for some undersea combat.
Meanwhile, OXM has noted that the property system has returned, something first seen in GTA: Vice City, with the game also being peppered with “endless side missions”.
In addition to all that, there’s a ton of new screenshots and art, which you can see right over…there (Cue the Jurassic Park theme):
Love or hate the franchise, there’s no denying that Rockstar games is going all in for the latest numbered GTA game. It’s out in September, on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Either way, I am expecting RED DEAD quality with GTA San Andreas story. I bet you all muffin that this will be more memorable as San Andreas while you all plug away at your next gen KILL ZONES and HALOS.

Granted…..IF the game is decently put together (Blood Dragon), and IF they do not pull an EA on themselves with a million Micro-transactions required to play, and IF you get more than a measly 10 Hours to finish it… then Yes….
I fully agree with your statement as well, the Monies belong to Rockstar, NOT the Parasite Importers…

Why the hate on Megarom? They’ve done a superb job for gaming in SA. I understand your hate for Ster Kinekor, would understand it for EA… but Megarom?

They are the ones marking the game up R200 as they said in an old LG post because they know they can. Like they did when they slapped an extra R100 on Max Payne 3.

“Rockstar have provided gamers with top pedigree of gaming franchises,
the pricing reflects a tremendous amount of effort, quality and value
that consumers will receive on their final purchase of the product.
Exchange rates also have a major influence on our pricing structures,
should the current exchange rate favour us closer to release, it may
then be possible to bring the pricing down,” Megarom’s Devon Stanton
told us in an official statement, also letting us know that the game
will actually have a recommended retail price of R799 (USD92, GBP57,
EUR71)

I best example I can give to express how i feel about GTA V and Saints Row IV… One is like the hottest actress in Hollywood the other other the hottest porn star in Hollywood… I prefer the latter.
