As we already know, GTA V is being remastered for the new gen consoles and finally coming in November. PC gamers, however, get to wait a few extra months before they too come to be annoyed by Trevor and his recklessness, and the overbearing repetition of the N word. Why must they wait so long? Rockstar has the answers.
“We’re glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon,” Rockstar said on its official blog.
“We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead.”
I’m okay with that if it means that the PC version ends up being a decent port – unlike the mess that GTA IV was when it was first released on PC. It took months of patches to turn that un-optimised mess into something that didn’t melt PCs – but in the end it was worth it for the plethora of ingenious mods that took the base game and transformed it in to all manner of things, including a Watch Dogs rip off.
At the very least though, this time GTA on PC will be released without the bane of being tied to Games for Windows live, so that’s already something in its favour.
Tell us, PC gamers. Are you excited to muck about and cause havoc n Los Santos in this remastered, higher res (and therefore more fun!) version of GTA?

I’m not excited for it & I can’t figure out why, which makes me a bit sad because I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the others I’ve played & looked forward to all of them being released. I even preordered the last 2 of them. It just seems like too little too late maybe.

I know, and I’d expect myself to be excited for it, but I’m just not. I see GTAV as a big middle finger from Rockstar to my preferred platform. I actually don’t buy the polish story, what I see is new console versions being released in time for Xmas & the PC version being released later… again… to allow for increased, and yes more profitable, console sales over the holiday period.

I couldn’t agree more. Traditionally, games ported to PC are cheaper. The problem is, by the time this hits PC, the next GTA is halfway there. Especially if the PC introduction occurs in 2015 as announced. There is no need for “polish”. Any well built gaming rig could handle it, if not better than either console.
Sounds to me like a corporate excuse to extract every dollar they can on the console gamer end.
They (Rockstar, Microsoft, and Sony) are more concerned about the game being ported to PC because of, well, hacking. If this is the case, just let it go. Better to have 20k hack accounts while the game still has a community than no community at all. Release the game on PC from the minute it is launched on console!
There is a high ratio of people in the gaming community that will torrent a game if only to make sure they aren’t wasting there money. A test run.
As games are becoming more expensive, and wages lower, this is going to happen. Don’t put out rushed/hyped content, and nobody will borrow it for a test run. In any case, regardless of how Internet Piracy is perceived, look up a few lines. We’re tired of dropping ridiculous amounts of money on 2 days of entertainment.

I preordered the collectors edition(R850) for my ps3, getting a PS4 as a gift next month and seriously considering buying it again(even if at full price). spent about 90hrs getting my 100% and have played more than 100hrs of online, call it 200hrs all together, that’s R4..25 an hour for entertainment. cant even get a beer for that.
