Halo 3: ODST does pretty well at retail

Prior to the release of Halo 3: ODST there were quite a few media outlets claiming that the game was simply overpriced DLC and that it was an insult to our mentality that Microsoft thought they could sell it as a full price game.

Well fast forward to now and the fact that Halo 3: ODST has become the third fastest selling game on the Xbox 360 and those self same media outlets are looking a little foolish.

The reviews are in and the game is good (not great) and it has also managed to shift over 2 million units in it’s first week.

I personally haven’t seen much of a marketing blast for Halo 3: ODST and as such I am expecting the sales to continue to sky rocket over the coming months.

While the gameplay enjoys a love/hate relationship with the public it is pretty impossible not to admire Bungies ability to make a game that sells.

As for it being an insult to our mentality, selling it as a full priced game, you may want to remember that every second person is below average intelligence… so to speak.

Actually ODST is nowhere near full price in SA…

R506 vs R699? Pretty damn cheap for a great (not just good) game.

And that pic? It is Halo reach that… not ODST…

Well… I think the game has been worth its full price. I’ve been in the wonderful position of being able to play it for absolutely free, but knowing what I know now, I would definitely pay full price to play it if I didn’t already have it!

More sales in 24 hours than the life time sales for KZ2.

More sales generated by suckers like janrik. Maybe one day you will develop an eye for quality. But as it stands you still have a long way to go. Now run off and go play your Gaylo gayboy.
