Apparently finishing the fight didn’t really mean what Bungie said it did. Not that I ever expected the billion dollar Halo series was going to be allowed to rest in peace.
Apparently a new and completely unsubstantiated rumour has started up that Bungie has already started working on Halo 4.
That’s about all the information there is but that’s never stopped us before.
So to build on this rumour, I would put money on the fact that our good friend Master Chief is not going to be in this one. You see that’s an easy way for Bungie to get out of all of those money grabbing questions.
The Chief finished the fight but the war continues and now we have a new hero to worship…
Of course Cortana will still be there and we will continue to hear about Master Chief but he will no longer be the main focal point.
Will it still be the covenant that we are fighting against or do you think they will invent a bigger, better and more bad ass enemy?

It could be one of those… parellel storylines, during the same timeline as Halo 1-3.

Hmm, I somehow doubt it’s really “halo 4” as another project and I doubt it’s really happening at Bungie. For one Bungie is like a fortress, things don’t leak from Bungie.
Secondly Bungie have categorically stated they don’t want to work on another Halo. At least not for a while.
Thirdly it’s more likely that they’re talking about Halo:Chronicles, the Peter Jackson project. Why would they have 2 conflicting projects on at the same time?

I see Kotaku are now reporting that some other sources are mentioning that Master Chief may not feature in Halo 4..
