Halo Reach Leaked, MS Responds with the Banhammer

HaloBanhammer

Halo Reach was released to Xbox Live Marketplace, hidden and only accessible to games reviewers. a group of sneaky hacker types managed to bypass Xbox Live’s security, downloading the game for themselves. they then released it – in Games on Demand and ISO form – to the internet at large.

Microsoft have not taken kindly to their biggest game of the year being played before release – and have responded with the mighty banhammer.

This time though, they’re not just banning consoles found to be playing the game pre-emptively, they’re banning the associated gamertags too. How long might this ban last, you ask? Why, eternity, of course!

This is the mail that stupid pirates have been receiving for Playing Reach early :

Do you really think that jtag users give a crap? Hardly anyone will waste a keyvault on playing reach and if they do it will be done on a different account to their own. It isn’t hard to make a 48 hour and run around online, jtags themselves only really last 4 or so hours anyway.

If you could play reach early you would. Most of them will still buy the game.

Just do me a favour Lazygamer team: Don’t report on the revealed story of the game or any news that could spoil it, that would be annoying…

Yeah we really wouldnt do that, not on purpose. Being someone that monitors comments on the whole site, I have a feeling that I may have it spoiled for me, however, if that happens I will be quite to spam any spoilers that are posted.

Yeah I’m also the lucky idiot who has removed quite a few Halo Reach spoiler comments…

What compels people to ruin the game for others is beyond me..

Luckily for me I have severe short term memory problems so the ending will still be a surprise for me 🙂
