The Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) changed up for their format for 2017 increasing the frequency and prize pool for all legs of the tournament. The roadshow will culminate at BlizzCon later this year, sending the best players from around the globe to the World Championship. The Spring Playoff, which is one of the final legs of the tournament, will see a dual tournament format being used for the group which will follow with previous iterations of the HCT. Once eight players remain the competition will move to a single-elimination series which has become the norm in most competitive esports titles.

The previous stop on the tour was the Winter Championship, in the Bahamas believe it or not, was one by Aleksey “ShtanUdachi” Barsukov who has already secured his spot at the Global Finals later this year. The Spring Championship will add a new name to the list as the Hearthstone Championship Tour presses on.
