EFF

It’s rather humble in the bundle…14. I think.

It’s been running for a few days already, but I’m going to blame my non-coverage of the latest Indie Humble Bundle on the Easter holidays. Moving on from the blame game, there’s a bunch of solid titles up for grabs in this particular Humble Bundle. You all know the drill, pay what you want and divvy the cash up for developers and charity and you’ll receive the following titles:

  • Pixel Piracy
  • UnEpic
  • Super Splatters

Pay more than the current average of $6.05, and you’ll also unlock the following games:

  • Outlast
  • Torchlight 2
  • La-Mulana
  • 140
  • MirrorMoon EP
  • Contraption Maker

Hell, that’s worth it just for the superb Torchlight 2 alone! Love that game! It’s like Diablo 3 on PC, but without any of that annoying constant online requirement duff needed. Which is sort of like the console version then. La-Mulana and Contraption Maker is just the icing on that digital cake then. Now chip in $10 or more, and you’ll nab the special edition of Shadow Warrior and a warm feeling about giving to charity and getting something out of the deal. I can get behind that, because I ain’t just giving my money away. Dance orphans, dance for my amusement! This 50 cent coin needs to be earned dammit!

As usual, you’ll be able to pick up soundtracks for select games as well, based on the tier you fund. There’s also a physical option available, where ponying up $40 will net you a t-shirt, bandana and an embroidered patch. Money goes to the developers, Child’s Play, Humble Bundle organisers or the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and not Malema’s trust fund.

Somehow I can see him trying to figure out how to turn the console on…………. and after a few hours of struggling rants on twitter about colonies undermining his intelligence

I cant get enough of it. Hollow Fragment required 8hours trying to figure out the game mechanics. Once I got it down it is now more addictive than all of the Final Fantasy’s combined. 80hours in and only on level 120 out of 250. DAAAAAM that Vita makes the vibrant colours of Japanese Anime even more crisp. I never watched a single episode before the game and after downloading the Manga I now understand why it starts on level 76 lol. Best game on the Vita with the usual shitty Metacritic score. FLOWER can suck my balls with its 92%.

The Vita has reinvigorated my craving for Anime. SAO FOR THE WIN. I would not be saying that if the combat was repetitive but its actually bloody deep and very rewarding (Once you figure out how to play it) Those link moves kick ass. ALSO, nothing better than accidentally finding a beast 20 levels higher but you can manage to kill it with Huge reward. Walk back to the dungeon entrance let it re-sparn and FARM untill the EXP starts running dry. Then progress the story while KICKING ASS with duel wielding ASS KICKING SWORDS with buffs.

Thank fcuk for the Vita because the PS4 sure as shit was not going to pull me out of my recent gaming funk.

Now I need all the Anime 🙂 Always loved the TRON concept.

Cool, another one for my list. As a layman I have never figured out what good Anime to watch. The West only seem to care about Naruto and Dragon Ball Z with the most horrendous English voice overs.

I am currently watching about 7 different types. I prefer the fantasy genre but anything will do really except mainstream. Did 90 episodes of Naruto and though “Dear lord enough is enough”.

Come to think of it. The only mainstream anime I enjoy is Fairy Tail.

Current Recommendations (Winter Lineup (ended last week so you can grab full seasons))

-Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul RootA(season 2 basically)
            – Aldnoah Zero
            -World Trigger

ooh and Assassination classroom for good comedy.

With the new lineup starting this week I just download Ep 1 of every anime my faveroute sub group releases and decided based on that epsiode.

Sometimes though I do get ep 2 or even 3 before I decided.

I actually found it quite fun just jumping in with zero character knowledge. The game SAO starts on level 76 after season 2s final boss fight. So its not a cannon but an alternate ending so it stays true to itself. After around 20hours the characters started becoming rather loveable but things still did not make sense. But I enjoyed seeing them at face value. Then I read the 10 chapter Manga and it all clicked lol. At first I thought it was just some quirky non sense Anime that is not meant to be taking seriously but then realized that its actually written with allot of care while hiding behind the Cute Harem comedy. Feels 😉 Nice to play something that does not require anti-depressants.

Have you watched season 2 of SAO??!! If not then get ready to go buy some anti-depressants. 😛

Its actually very smart, high production values and graphics with a very fast right camera stick. It kind of reminds of the cell shading from Dragon Quest 8 but it actually looks like Anime. When you zoom in on the character models you can see very crisp edges and the eyes blink.
Its on Easter special PSN store for R350.

I’ve managed to crack my gaming funk by playing a smattering of games and finding a reason to love playing ’em again.
Kicked off with some retro arcade gaming, Elevator Action, Robocop, City Connection, CABAL and Rygar then threw in God of War III on PS3 (finally) and worked my way over to PS4’s Axiom Verge, Super Stardust Ultra and Apotheon while finishing off Uncharted 2 (finally) and am now busy on Uncharted 3 (finally) on PS3. Oh also did a Gears of War 1 System Link playthough recently which really got those gaming fires going again… First time in a few years I’m really enjoying my fav pastime.

Same, I also went back to the Golden Oldies. Did a one sitting of Spec Ops The Line 🙂 I think we looked too much into the next gen without realizing that they are nothing more than modern SOCIAL media devices. I think that was their sole intention from the start.
Red Dead Redemption also holds up in the graphics department till this day. Its not as if we jumped away from the jaggie generation like we did when we left the PS2 behind.

            Next gen is overrated.

They Recently released Valkyria Chronicles to PC and since I watched the Anime I thought to give it a spin. Was well worth it even though I sorta knew where it was heading as the Anime was pretty much the game … sorta.

Also Dungeon Keeper 3 … I mean War for the Overworld. 😛
