Here, have even more Dragon Age: Inquisition screens!

Dragon Age: Inquisition is beautiful. We know this, because EA keeps on telling us this by way of its slow releases of screenshots. Still, as the next big RPG it’s something I’m personally quite excited about. These new screenshots show The Fade and Therinfal Redoubt, wholly exportable environments from the game.

"Always in a constant state of change, the Fade is impossible for mortals to accurately map,” reads the description of the Fade, the Dragon Age Universe’s spirit realm.

Therinfal Redoubt is a castle in Ferelden that acts as compound for the Seekers. The Seekers of Truth are an Andrastian order, a  counterbalance to the Templar Order; a secretive and investigative bunch who root out evil and chaos within the Chantry.

Bioware is promising a game of far greater scope than the last one, which is great, because that one was stuck in just one little section, with its one little cave and one little dungeon. It’ll also require your party working in unison to bring down far great beasties than the series has tasked you with before. I don’t want to get my (or your!) hopes up too much, but Inquisition seems like it’s shaping up to be rather excellent.

Here are those screens, which EA shared on its Dragon Age Facebook page. Dragon Age: Inquisition will interrogate your Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 or PC on Oct. 7

I know ya’ll gonna think I’m like bias, gonna be calling me..ToBIAS and shit…But this has got nothing to do with JRPGs…but…Don’t you think that WRPG’s settings are getting old? I mean, it’s either Sci-fi or Tolkien…Fallout was great, let’s see more creative setting for wrpgs….I’m sick of orcs and elves or alien boobs

            😀 I ignored it.

If you think about it, sci-fi & fantasy is basically all you will get, but they’re really wide genres. Post-apocalyptic can be a subset of either depending on the direction they take, Fallout is sci-fi. It’s what they do in the setting that counts to me. Alpha Protocol is the only real world style RPG I can think of offhand & that bombed.

            June 3, 2014 at 14:17

True, that can fall under Sci-fi, lemme be specific, Galactic Sci-fi, it’s always either aliens or orcs. Fallout was different in a way, so was Deus Ex. But A lot of WRPGs keep revolving around medieval times. Alpha might’ve bombed, but it was unique and different

To me it’s the sign of the times. Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings etc, that is so called western culture. Japanese culture is having a guy who is six 6″7 date a girl who looks like she hasn’t made it into first grade yet 😛 WRPGs to me are far less shiny than the majority of Japanese games, which to me try to retain a certain level of innocence, even in heavy stories.

WRPGs like to be grounded in reality while still depicting fantasy., For me in anycase, it always find it unappealing, even if the narrative is strong. I love it when a game, just explores things most of the time our minds could never come up with

I suppose I find WRPGS far more adult. I mean, I’ve lived in the east, maybe that’s why I am tired of the ‘pretend’ innocence of much of their stories. You walk around looking at people dressed as hello Kitty long enough and you get tired of it, this thin layer of ‘oh I am so cute’, not when you are taking a crap you aren’t 😛 Tehehehe. That being said I like jrpgs, just not in everything I play.

Have to agree , more than you know. I’m tired of that too. Sick of it to be honest, even though I really like it lol Thing is, when the Jrpgs produce serious stories, then it’s freaking amazing. Lost Odyssey dealt with some serious issues, Xenogears was a surreal game touching on religion and God…but seriously…I’m tired of of having 5 party members that have not yet reached puberty

            June 3, 2014 at 14:54

Lol. Agreed. And I thought LO was produced by MS, not a jrpg?

            June 3, 2014 at 15:03

MS? It was a pure JRPG produced by Mistwalker, published by MS. Mistwalker consists of Hironobu Sakaguchi of FF. They made The Last Story for the Wii as well…So no, PURE JRPG lol

            June 3, 2014 at 15:06

Ah, that’s right, published by them. Think I was remembering that many left FF to go over to this. Either way, it’s by far the most adult JRPG I’ve played, even the kids in it didn’t make me want to murder the world 😛

Both ends of the spectrum could do with some spicing up. J and W. I will always use Vampire Masquerade as an example. Dat was a bloody unique rpg

Nice 🙂 That was a great game damn, so dark and moody. And me too, to an extent, it was just really broken and a bit dry, but I’ve seen MUCH worse

What about a wrpg that is realistic? Like no elves, dwarves, orcs. Just humans. Vikings and English fighting it out. The tale of a sellsword or something like that?
