Here is what Sony is giving us to make up for the PSN downtime

Now that the PSN is back up and things are returning to normal it’s time to look at what Sony is offering us outside of America to make up for losing our personal information and the extended downtime.

Unfortunately we’re not getting the cool identity theft insurance that the Americans are getting but I think a lot of people will be happy with what’s being offered.

Two PS3 games from the following list:

  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Infamous*
  • Wipeout HD/Fury
  • Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
  • Dead Nation*

For those with PSP accounts, you will also be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list:

  • LittleBigPlanet PSP
  • ModNation PSP
  • Pursuit Force
  • Killzone Liberation*

– 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PS Plus subscribers*

– Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given 60 days free subscription.

– For existing Music Unlimited subscribers, you will be given 30 days free subscription.

– We are working on a Welcome Back offer in PlayStation Home and will share that when it is confirmed.

So if you had a PS3 and were registered on the PSN on or before the 20th of April 2011 then you can now download 2 full titles for the PS3 and if you have a PSP as well then you get 2 more titles.

The free PSN Plus is useless really since whatever you unlock during that period will disappear when the 30 days are up but it’s a marketing move that you can’t really fault them on.

There are a few complaints on the official blog about people having all 4 of the main titles being offered for free but unfortunately with 77 million customers (there count not mine) it’s hard for them to put together an offer that will suit everyone.

Though why they can’t just say that everyone can have 2 older games and be done with it isn’t clear.

But that’s it, do you think they are offering enough for losing your data and forcing you into single player hell for 3 weeks?
