We’ve seen some shiny news screens from Warner and Avalanches Mad Max – and though it looks good, I’ve not been convinced. Here’s a shiny new gameplay trailer…and it’s doing a better job of getting me excited.

The trailer provides a glimpse into the desperate struggle Max faces after losing it all – his family, his car, his sanity – and the steps he must take to survive in the harsh and desolate Wasteland. For the first time, players get an extended look at the deep car customization, metal grinding vehicular combat, brutal melee combat and a wide range of other activities they can engage in during their quest to build the ultimate survival vehicle, the Magnum Opus, and find solace in the Plains of Silence. All footage in the trailer is in-engine, comprised of actual game play and in-game cinematics.

Check it out:

It looks pretty cool. I had no idea we were getting an Arkham Asylum game set in the desert! The combat system aside, it does like pretty damned promising, even if the trailer’s narrator is a little too gruff and gritty and boring. The post-apocalyptic sandbox wasteland you’ll traverse Mad Max will be hitting  PC and the newer consoles on  September 4th.

Mad max wasn’t really on my radar, but now it is peaking my interest a little.

The Last of Mad Payne : Wild Asylum
Actually this does look good. The roads are much more open the it was in Rage, lots of customization. Closest thing we can get to a new Fallout and was that the Thunderdome I saw.
This might be one title I cant just walk away from.

Am I just jaded, or are more and more games these days just falling well short of hype-worthy? I can’t seem to get excited for games nowadays. I’m not even keen on E3’s news, because it’s just more of the same crap with a new coat of paint…

    Sigh.
