BlizzCon is just around the corner, and with it comes the World Championships. Blizzard are going all out for their conference this year, offering up over a million dollars in prize money split up across four of their competitive games. Interested in following all the action? StarCraft II

Tournament Start

  • 10:00 a.m. PST – November 1
  • 12:00 p.m. PST – November 6
  • 12:30 p.m. PST – November 7

Format

  • Single-elimination Bracket
  • Matches Best-of-5; Finals Best-of-7

Prize Total: $250,000

  • 1st – $100,000
  • 2nd – $50,000
  • 3rd-4th – $15,000
  • 5th-8th – $7,500
  • 9th-16th – $5,000

    I was a tad confused about this breakdown until I realised that the numbers listed above are per player. So for example, the first prize of $40 000 is actually a total of $200 000 for the whole team.

    Take note that each heading above is a hyperlink to the respective game’s main page, where a more detailed breakdown of the proceedings, such as brackets and specific matchup times for example, can be found. There’s lots to watch, so plan your time accordingly!

    Personally, I’m most excited to see what will happen in the Heroes of the Storm championship. Heck, I’m even keen to see how the pros get lucky over in Hearthstone. What about you? What game will be drawing most of your attention?
