The Order 6

I’ve not the most diligent trophy hunter. While some games bring it out in me, particularly when the trophies are earned by playing the game instead of seeking out arbitrary ways to kill things, many games in my library are still sitting at abysmally low completion levels despite my finishing the entire experience. The Order’s trophies seem pretty specific. Warning: may contain not at all slight spoilers.

This list is pulled from wMikkel’s PSN profile after some controversy about the game possibly being five hours long. Don’t worry, it’s not – apparently it’s closer to about ten hours to complete the story and much longer to do all the things. But here’re all the trophies that you can earn:

Silver

  • Between the Eyes: Kill 100 enemies with a headshot
  • Undivided Attention: Kill 25 enemies during Blacksight
  • From the Hip: Kill 25 enemies without aiming
  • Box Your Ears: Kill 15 enemies with melee attacks
  • Snuffed Out: Kill 7 enemies with silent takedowns
  • Gunslinger: Kill 75 enemies with pistols
  • The Hunter: Kill 10 Lycans
  • Up in Flames: Incinerate 15 enemies
  • Archivist: Collect all phonograph cylinders
  • Well-read: Inspect all newspapers
  • Detail Oriented: Inspect all photographs and documents
  • Power of Observation: Inspect all objects
  • Discombobulated: Stun an enemy 30 times with the M2 ‘Falchion’
  • Highly Volatile: Detonate 10 powder kegs

Gold

  • Brilliant!: Shoot an airborne grenade during Blacksight
  • Inspector First Class: Find all inspect items
  • Collateral Damage: Kill 3 enemies with a single explosion
  • Modern Marvels: Kill 40 enemies with science weapons
  • Well Rounded: Kill an enemy with every weapon
  • The Marksman: Kill 5 enemies with a headshot during Blacksight
  • A Knight No More: Complete the game (any difficulty)

Platinum

  • The Grail: Collect all trophies

Do these look like trophies that you will manage to collect? I’d probably only get the ones that happen naturally, like killing a certain number of enemies using various techniques. Depending on the size of the game, I don’t always gather all the collectibles – if it seems like a fun part of the game, I might, but if it involves hunting around in arbitrary areas, I’ll probably miss out on all those trophies.

    “Kill 10 Lycans”

I wonder how many Lycan enemies are in the game?

        Well, duh.

But I mean, would it be an issue to kill one, so that you would focus to kill 10? Or does it not count if your squad kills one?

i would assume it’s probably a bit of a mission to kill 1….
if it was easy you’d need to kill 100

Although I notice there are no story-related trophies at all – just a trophy for completing it. Meh, whatever… I play for the game – not the trophy. I usually only ‘trophy hunt’ if the trophy sounds like fun to get and always on my 2nd or more playthrough – 1st playthrough is to enjoy the game as it was meant to be played (not hunting around a room for hidden collectibles).

Can’t have too many now, that would come down to a trophy squeezed into every 2 mins of gameplay and that would get old real fast! ????

These I think is still fine.

What bothers me is having to roam around picking up worthless nonsense just so you can get that trophy that gives you “Collect 100% Relics” and other types of collectibles that lend absolutely nothing to the actual story of the game being played.

You spend so much time then making sure that you try and get as many collectibles since you don’t want to play the game a million times over, that you loose the atmosphere that was intended.

Because of this, I think Batman Arkham Asylum, Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls had a great trophy list.

10 hours is not that bad for a linear game. But the replay value is a bit concerning

Seriously I wouldn’t! Bloodborne yes, but not this! This is going to be a short boring cinematic QTE fest!

          • L337J1MB0B

            February 5, 2015 at 10:47

Perhaps, time will tell. But there has been a lot of positive feedback from the more recent hands-on opinions with the game. I’ll reserve judgement until people have played it properly, but the setting, gameplay and such looks awesome.

          • Pieter Kruger

            February 5, 2015 at 10:50

Setting yes, and it’ll be pretty as hell but gameplay? No way, they cannot change the gameplay at such a late stage unfortunately! It’s going to be a linear cover shooter with plenty of QTE’s and a lot of items to inspect in between.

          • L337J1MB0B

            February 5, 2015 at 10:54

Linearity isn’t something that bothers me, as long as there is enough freedom to roam a little, but biggest thing for me in a game like this is story and gameplay mechanics, which are both seeming promising to me. Anyway, will see what people think of it in a couple of weeks.

I don’t think games should actually have achievements for collectibles in the game but rather bonuses for collecting a certain amount. Far cry 4 did it right they had a crapload of collectibles which just gave exp or cash and no achievement. Ironically it still took me 50 hours to complete the game (collected all collectibles cause it was fun to fly that damn buzzer). I do not like it when people base a games length on collectibles because to me the Order: 1886 pretty much sounds like a game that will take 10 hours to finish but will take you 4 extra hours to pretty much grind collectibles. I don’t really want to spend R800 on such a game.
