Around this time last year, Heroes of the Storm got a themed event in the form of Eternal Conflict. Basically, it was an excuse for Blizzard to throw a ton of Diablo themed content into their MOBA.

They’re looking to do the same now this year with the Machines of War event. The difference though, is that they’ve traded in heaven and hell for the stars – this content is based entirely off the StarCraft franchise.

Well, almost. There’s a bit of Overwatch thrown in for good measure. Here’s a preview, ripped straight from the Blizzard conference at Gamescom 2016:

That’s right, Alarak, the High-Lord of the Tal’darim is making his way into the Nexus. He’s not the only one joining the fray however, as Overwatch’s Zarya is coming along for the ride too. Here’s a closer look at the two of them, and some new skins that are coming to the MOBA soon…

The Machines of War Event will contain two new StarCraft battlegrounds too. Keen to find out more about Braxis Holdout and Warhead Junction? Here’s a sneak peek…

And that’s it – there’s enough content in the Machines of War event to keep Heroes of the Storm players happy for at least a little while. What do you think? Are  you excited for the two new characters and additional battlegrounds?

It’s kinda cool how Blizzard merge all their worlds together.. Zarya is my current second favourite Overwatch character so glad to see she’s getting some extra love.

Zenyetta is obviously the top player..

I think this is how you keep the game interesting…Yes Dota 2 is the main competition based game but this is just plain fun gaming and that is what you want if you just want a game or two…
