Hot New Skate 2 Footage

Finally! We got our hands on some footage for the sequel to EA’s Skate.

I became a huge fan of the first game as it’s controls and pace were a refreshing change after way too many years of Tony Hawk rehashes. The video shows off some hot new features that will be included in the sequel including the ability to get off your board and walk, do hand-plants and even push objects around to create your own setup.

If you haven’t tried the first game out and have nothing but the remotest interest in skateboarding, you should check it out. It’s great to see that some development houses understand what gamers are looking for in a game and then doing it.

I recently started playing skate, and it’s pretty cool. I’m not going to say I’m blown away with it. I’ve only spent an hour playing and right now it’s a little frustrating getting the hang of the flickit system. My hands are still programmed to Tony Hawk super-duper-million-point combo mode.

It takes a while to get used to the controls but it is a great game. I reckon it is one of the most frustrating and rewarding games that I have played.

It just takes practice. Once you get the hang of it it’s very intuitive and you can pull off some SICK and rewarding lines =)
