Stephen Totilo from Kotaku somehow managed to get a sneak peak at the current Home Beta and has given his impressions on how it is progressing, or more exactly how it is not actually progressing.
In his opinion, while it is still a Beta, there is nothing in the current iteration that offers anything over what we have already been told and the part that does exist just doesn’t work very well.
It is slow and a bit unwieldly, all in all the preview he gives is not positive..
Take a look through the link, so is he being overly harsh on a beta or has Sony tried to get to complicated here and are about to fall short?

IMO Sony bit off more than they could chew with Home. I expect it to be this bloated, unwieldly long way round to doing what gamers want to do: play games. Screw Second Life and it’s knock offs- leave that to people who are bored at work and have no real friends.
All Sony need to do is spruce up the s/w allowing for similiar functionality as the xbox with regards the xmb and accessing features within game.
