Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is currently in closed beta on PlayStation 4, bringing some futuristic multiplayer action in to the hands of those who’ve pre-ordered the game. According to those who’ve been playing, it’s a great deal of fun – with its new movement being a particular highlight.

That said, there’s a good chance you’d like to get in to the beta, but aren’t exactly keen on pre-ordering to secure a code. Well, you don’t have to. Some industrious Redditors have discovered that you can download and participate in the beta without a key. Here’s how.

All you need to do is create a brand new Singaporean account.

  • Create a new PSN account, select Singapore as country
  • Use Jurong East as city
  • Use 609786 as postal code
  • Use 256 Jurong East Street 24 as your address. It’s a McDonalds, so feel free to sing “ba da ba ba baaaaaa….I’m Loving it” as you head to the PS Store to download the freely available beta
  • If you then set your new Singaporean account as primary you’ll be able to play the beta using any of your accounts.

The beta download clocks in at around 12.5GB, offering three maps and 7 multiplayer modes to try out.  As a warning though, it is a beta – so you can expect some issues. The beta also relies on dedicated servers, which have a limited capacity during this testing phase – so you may not be able to jump straight in to a game.

In fact, it may take you a while.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s beta will run until Sunday, August 23 on PS4. Xbox One and PC gamers will get their own beta next week.

Call of Duty Black Ops 3 is coming to a console or PC near you on November 6.

Way to much effort for a beta.

your website has too many changes at the moment, I can barely browse your pages any more, the response is tooo slow. Its not like a crap PC at work, I have the latest firefox. Some of my applications use way more resources than a simple webpage.

unless I need to dumb down my browser somehow….

Yeah Gavin did say on twitter over the last few days that there is something going wrong with Firefox and he is looking into it. I use Chrome and I have very few problems.
