Hyrule-Warriors

I freakin’ love me a good hack ‘n slash game. Nothing symbolises that genre better than the musou games of the Dynasty Warriors series, a series which has managed to earn a devoted following over the years with not only their franchise but by also applying that formula of cutting down everything with a pulse to other well-known gaming icons.

Team Ninja and Omega Force did just that in 2014 with Hyrule Warriors, a spin-off starring that warrior in emerald who has to keep reminding people that his name isn’t Zelda. Link’s latest adventure was solid stuff, but hardly played on the Wii U as most people opted for the 3DS version instead. A second chance is on the horizon for Link however. as the Nintendo Switch will provide a larger screen for him to hack away on.

Here’s a trailer and a synopsis straight from Nintendo for Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition:

A new, ultimate version of the exhilarating action game set in the Zelda universe will include every map and mission, plus all 29 playable characters from both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS versions of the game, along with all of the previous paid downloadable content. Play as Link, Zelda, Midna, Skull Kid and dozens more in action-packed battles at home or on the go. Additionally, the game includes new outfits for Link and Zelda based on the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game.

All the content of the Wii U and 3DS games, available in one tight package. You can expect to wave your Master Sword around the time of the US Spring in 2018.
