Right now, as far as I’m concerned, everything can get in the sea! But some things need to get out of the sea, and be eaten!
I’ve already told you all that I’m not exactly enamoured with the Frutti Di Mare; particularly the scaly piscine, osteichthyes sort. Things that generally have shells around them though? Those can get out of the sea, and in to my mouth. And if there’s one thing from the sea that I’m a sucker for, that I just can’t resist, it’s scallops. The saltwater clam is one of the most delicious things to come from Poseidon’s domain, lightly pan-fried – soft, sweet and juicy.

Afrikaans should get in the sea.

Afrikaans moet in die see klim? Nah, does not seem right.
Geoff, surely you mean Afrikaans speakers should get in the sea? I fail to see how a language, a construct of the mind and will, can get, as you say, in the sea.

Everything that I’m currently against (My whims are prone to change), whether inanimate, animate, or ethereal, construct or not, should get in the sea! (for reference: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Get+in+the+Sea and https://twitter.com/getinthesea )

Just to translate for the non afrikaans speakers:
this is an expression, an idiom and roughly translates as “good farming land in Canaan”
This would the be interpreted (idiom, like I said) as a great, fertile, growing and nurturing relationship between Geoff and his wife. Great expression, truly.

I pick them up (unfortunately frozen, but with roe intact) from a fishmonger in china town, but they’re available from any fishery, and many expensive restaurants.

Got love corporate BS.
Look at all our fish are green lists fish, because that is the “in-thing” to do but scallops are wild caught.

As an aside, there are few things worse than overcooked scallops. horrible, rubbery things. a waste.

Overcooked calamari?
Geoffrey Tim
July 7, 2015 at 16:34
Scallops come at a much higher premium than calamari. So while overcooked bits of either of them are unpleasant, overcooked scallops hurt more.

Ah, you mean the money. I thought you just meant the taste.
Yeah, scallops win. Gentle it must be
