Hey guys, did you know it was early Friday? It’s Thursday, the day we drink and pretend we don’t have work tomorrow. The day we slog through, reminding ourselves that the weekend isn’t far away. The day that I really need to make my packing list for Gamescom. But first, all the indie news we ignored so far this week.

Darryn already told you about the awesomeness that is Expendabros, so here’s al the other indie news I thought you might enjoy.

Shovel Knight has sold 180k copies, including its 15 684 Kickstarter backers. It reached top-selling game on 3DS, second on Wii U (after Mario Kart 8) and top 10 on Steam. In fact, the lifetime sales goal for the developer was 150k copies – that number has already been surpassed. Well done to the developers for crunching the numbers and finding a way to make the budget work. Very cool story, indeed.

Toren, a new game from indie publisher Versus Evil will be coming to PC, Mac and IndiePlayStation 4. It’s a dark fantasy adventure game that brings poetry to life – what an indie cliche these days, but still sounds like a really cool game. Here’s the pretty trailer with awesome music.

Also coming to PS4 (and PSVita) is Velocity2X which looks frenetic and fun.

Meanwhile, here are two Kickstarters that might strike your fancy. First up, Woolfe, a cinematic fairy tale platformed for PC that lets you play as a vengeful Red Riding Hood. Just check the character trailer:

The second cool Kickstarter is Paperbound. This local multiplayer game lets you manipulate gravity as you explore arenas in the pages of old storybooks. You can play the demo and give it a thumbs up on Steam Greenlight.

Learn to make your own indie games! We all imagine that we could do it better than the pros. Okay, maybe not all of us do – I know I’d suck at making a game. But for those of you who still want to make a game, the guys from OUYA have a quick and easy way to do it:

Prototype of the Week

Remember when we played Snailboy, the locally created and awesomely designed mobile game? Well, it’s getting a sequel! Check out Snailboy 2 and tell the developers what they should fix/change to make it even more awesome.

I especially like the animated gif that shows a bit of the boss fight against Rince.
