Batman_-_Hush

Who’s afraid of the big bad bat? Ever since the events of Arkham City the caped crusader has been left without a purple-suited maniac in his life, as the Joker finally succumbed to the effects of the game that kicked the entire franchise off in Arkham Asylum. A new game is on the way, and that’s no secret. So who will be the main antagonist? Well, Hush up and I’ll tell you…

The current theory is that Doctor Thomas Elliott, better known to fans as Hush, is going to be terrorising the Gotham guardian over another bad night. Batman: Hush, a Facebook page that is owned by Warner Bros, posted the following image and description over the weekend:

Hush

Hush isn’t just a villain, but also the name of his debut storyline that was received with wide acclaim back in 2000. Written by Jeph Loeb and drawn by Jim Lee, Hush was an anti-Batman, a child who murdered his own parents and is driven by an intense desire for material wealth and greed.

Together with another recurring Arkham foe, the Riddler, Hush orchestrated a massive plot against the Batman, that saw the caped crusader tussle with his entire rogues gallery and even Superman. In terms of game design, that’s a winner right there as you know how developers just love to throw players into a gauntlet of boss battles.

Hush has also made an appearance in both Arkham Asylum (sort of) and Arkham City. In Asylum, his name can be found written on the duty roster of the medical roster, while Arkham City saw him re-emerge as a serial killer whose faces were stripped of in order to help him perform plastic surgery on himself in order to resemble Bruce Wayne.

We’ve already seen the logo for the next Batman game, where I guessurmised that the next title would either star the Suicide Squad or be based on the No Man’s Land arc. But a Hush-centric Batman game? I can get behind that, easy.

  1. If Rocksteady are Developing, I can get behind Hush as the big bad…. But, it would be cooler if it was Ras Al Ghul… Maybe introduce the Red Hood… Who could have his own campaign against Batman, because he believes Batman is responsible for the Death of the Joker, robbing him of his chance for revenge…. Keep it dark, make it more personal….

Joker killed the sh*t out of Jason Todd. Why would he want revenge against Batman if he thought he killed him?

I can see that, but still: that would piss on the very fabric of who and what Red Hood is. Rocksteady have shown that they LOVE the Batverse and have stuck pretty damn faithfully to it, so I doubt they’d compromise Jason to such a degree.

Jason blames Bruce yes, but he still loves and respects him. But I get where you’re going. He’d make a pretty badass boss fight along the lines of the Deathstroke fight from that piece of sizzling shit Arkham OrangeGingers.

I’ve not even played Origins yet…. For the same reason I never played Bioshock 2….

On Rocksteady’s next game, I agree with your assessment, but it would still be cool to have Todd’s Red Hood appear…

I think a Red Hood side-mission would be easy enough, ala Lady Shiva in Origins or Mad Hatter in City. But as a primary antagonist? Nah.

Darryn, have you Read Death in the Family and Under The Hood, some of the greatest Batman Comics… Right up there with Killing Joke and Knightfall.

You’re asking me if I’ve read certain landmark Batman comics that helped define the caped crusader and his world for generations to come? Does an orphan with anger issues and too much cash shit in a secret underground cave lair?

In the Hush story arc, Hush recruits Red Hood to help him. He also has Clayface shape shift to Jason Todd and they play on the grief that Batman feels for his death. Along with that, the DLC for AC would tie in nicely because eventually Robin and Nightwing assist Batman in his fight against Hush.

Hush isn’t so much the games next villain but it’s more like what Warner Bros. wants us to do when we talk about the bugs in Arkham Origings.

Well, I said this last week, didn’t I? I called it — I, F-word called that S-word right there. Posing as Bruce, he’s probably going to try and discredit Batman like he did with — was it Heart of Hush? Sure it was that GN… I’m… I’m sure… Am I?

And side-note: Hush is one of my favourite villains and his introductory arc was brilliant, but to this day, I hate the Riddler’s part in it. Undermined Elliot so hard. :/

Hopefully we can get Elliots story out in the open. Never really heard of him,but it seems like he could be a very dangerous foe for Batman. Also it’s nice to see designers put their Joker,Bane,Mr Free,Penguin ,etc. figurines away for know.

The dude is a very sick puppy. I creamed my briefs when I found him in Arkham City.

During Batman R.I.P, he did the same thing (stealing Bruce’s identity) and abused his wealth, but Batman, Inc turned those tables on him. He’s definitely worthy of being the big bad for the Arkham [Insert title here].

Hush is the most underrated villain in the Batman comics. I rate him second only to the Joker.

I have a feeling that the 3rd game will also feature Scarcrow after the big secret In arkham city. Also, remember Azreal’s prophecy. Guys, reckon the next Arkham game will own!
