It was announced and shown off at E3 all the way back in 2009, but things have been very quiet on the MGS: Rising front since then. Could the relative silence signal trouble?

Possibly, as Kojima Productions has confirmed – translated by Andriasang -  that the game’s producer has stepped down.

Former producer Shigenobu Matsuyama has moved on to another division within Kojima Productions, and has been replaced by Yuji Korekado. Korekado is busy doing an HD remake collection (yes, another one of THOSE) of Kojima’s fabled Zone of the Enders series, but should acquire head honcho of Rising status as soon as he’s done with that.

The game, which features Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’s maligned Raiden and a very, very sharp sword is set to be shown at this year’s Spike VGA awards, but there’s no word yet of its intended release date.
