Splinter Cell Conviction

It’s one of the Xbox 360’s major exclusives and just as we had a million and one rumours of MGS4 making it’s way onto the Xbox 360 the rumours are flying around about Sam Fischer kicking ass on the PS3 in the not to distant future.

These rumours have been given a timely boost by one of the lead software engineers, Marc Demers, adding PS3 to the list of platforms that he helped developed Splinter Cell Conviction on to his CV via the LinkedIn site.

The listing has now been removed but not before the damage was done.

This could be a simple typo, or he could developed a proof of concept Sam Fischer on the PS3 which is never going to see retail or possibly Sam is coming…

Well, that would explain one thing – BTGames
    (Tygervalley) have mock-up
boxes for forthcoming games and yes, there is a Conviction box for PS3. I always thought it was just a mistake and never bothered to ask them about it. Hmmmm
    :ermm:

I’m a big fan and have played them all. Trust me, I know the difference between Double Agent and Conviction 😉
Besides,Double Agent’s been out for ages.
I’ll see if I can get a photo if they still have it.

Okay,so i just came from there and it’s been removed now.It was indeed just stacked under the wrong section as the PC/360/PS3 mock-ups are basically the same layout and doesn’t clearly state the Platform per box.
            So,unfortunately for everyone hoping that there’s a PS3
version lurking about, no-one knows of it.

Not 100% sure, but wasn’t conviction in development for both and then the PS3 version was dropped?

It’s not coming to PS3 guys. Microsoft have exclusive rights, that’s the end of it. Future games might, but not Conviction.

While I agree with you, there is no way to tell for certain (unless a game is owned by either MS or Sony). Bioshock was also had exclusive rights with MS. The fact that it was in development was kept secret for months after it was released on X360.

It can happen. I just don’t think it will.

I know this is a long shot but have you guys noticed that when a game says “Only on Xbox 360” then it wont go to the PS3 (excluding Ninja Gaiden 2,Enchanted arms and GTA IV Liberty city stories due to contract gaps)

Im too lazy to go to some research, but we all know that some games claiming to be exclusive always end up going multiplat.. With MS just going silent, as if they never said it was exclusive to start with. It might be a MCROSOFT EXCLUSIVE.. but for how long…. Star Ocean jumps to mind if i had to take one for example
