A brand new PlayStation 4 advert has been released into the wild. It’s obvious that Sony is taking the accusations of a lack of games head-on with the trailer showcasing why the PlayStation 4 is the best place to play.
The video’s nicely put together with select quotes from gaming media and a list of some of the great exclusives that are coming to the PlayStation 4 such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Infamous: Second Son, The Order and a few others. They also make the claim that there are 180 games in development for the PS4 which is more than any other console and that they have timed DLC exclusives on Assassin’s Creed 4 and Watchdogs.
But the weirdest part is that they list Destiny as an upcoming title and say “From the makers of Halo” which we all know has never graced a PlayStation console. They don’t specify any exclusivity around Destiny but it is placed in the video where they are claiming exclusivity on other titles so make of that what you will.

Yea that doesn’t hold up anymore. Many of us pc gamers have our pc’s connected to our entire homes. I can sit wherever I have a screen. So, I too can sit on the couch and play if I want.

This is still the best thing I like about consoles. Spend the R6000 (give or take) and you are set with your hardware for then next seven years at least. Plus now that PS+ is what it is. How can anyone have a shortage of games to play especially since your library carries over. I already have a sizeable PS+ backlog to get through and thus I will have no shortage of games to play on my PS4 come December.

The only problem I have with ps+ is, I’ll be playing a game, loving it, and a new game is released on +. And my curiosity always gets the best of me so I download the new game and almost never go back to the previous one.

But what about your disk backlog, thats my problem I still have like 7 games on disks that I need to play! I obviously cannot use them in the PS4, so why get a PS4 I mean there aren’t any launch titles that I really want to play. The game I’m most excited for is Titanfall and that’s on PC.

I trade my dics in at BT games. You get more for a second hand game when you trade in for a preorder. My priority lies with disc based games because the sooner I finish it the sooner I can trade it in for the next new game. It really help financially

Problem is you get so little for them. I traded in 10 game the other day fore like R550, that’s why I mainly just give my games away now and swap them with friends also I very very very very very rarely preorder these days, with the amount of bullshit companies are pulling these days you never know if that AAA game is going to be a AAA or c-

I’m pretty sure you are quite optimistic on the 7 year console cycle bit. With PC development as it currently is, and the new generation of consoles already falling behind PC capability, I think the cycles are going to shorten, again and again, until, we reach a console singularity. Where the only singular thing in existence is once again the pc, or a true hybrid PC/ Console. A unified system if you were.

Given CBOAT’s track record, I’d say the rumours of both COD, Titanfall and Battlefield 3 being stuck at 720p to be pretty spot on. Given Ryse’s recent framerate stumble at 900p, I wouldn’t surprised if they bumped it down to 720p as well.

It certainly seems that way, especially given the latest Xbone issue called Resolutiongate. I was following a rumour last night on Neogaf, which exploded on the internet. Apparently, Titanfall and Battlefield 4 (and potentially a host of other games) are going to be 720p on the bone. CBOAT broke the rumour and as every one knows the man is a potential microsoft insider with a pretty good rumours-are-facts record. It gets even more shocking given that none of the head honchos at Microsoft are denying it. Penello danced around the question and Major Nelson looked like he was a deer caught in headlines. Which makes you wonder… Are there serious limitation with the xbone…? Are they not telling us something?
I understand now why they didn’t call it the xbox 720…because… it can only do 720p like a current gen console. It’s actually shocking when you think that the Wii U can do 1080p at the drop of the hat.

By the way, I know a lot of folks will say that resolution and graphics don’t matter, and that’s true, but when you’re paying $500 for a supposed next-gen console, and it’s unable to do better than 720p then shit has to hit the fan. And even more so if the cheaper competitor can do 1080 on all its first party and third party games (provided Microsoft hasn’t had some titles gimped for the sake of parity)

“From the makers of Halo” is for those xbox gamers who are giving the Xbone the finger. On my xbl friend list, there’s probably only one or two who are not getting PS4s. One particular die-hard is adamant to get a bone, but the rest won’t touch it. They’re changing gang colours next gen, and joining me on PSN.
It’s a clever strategy from SONY, and if you’re familiar with Halo from your xbox days and you’re new to PS, it’s comforting to know that Bungie has a game on this new system of yours.
