Is this the best unboxing video ever? No

Nina Totenberg is a DJ on NPR which is American’s National Public Radio. Now Nina appears to know absolutely nothing about gaming but for some reason they were sent one of those PS4 press packs and so they did what everyone expects them to, they filmed an unboxing.

Now there are two reasons I love this video. The first being that I find unboxing video’s a bit ridiculous, who needs a video of what it looks like opening a box? I’ve never understood it.

And the second reason is for those little gems hidden in the video such as “Okay now open that” and even if you find nothing funny make sure you play the last 10 seconds.

So is this the best unboxing video of all time? Of course not, that honour has to go to the reverse Xbox One gif that was made which makes me laugh every time I see it.

Come on that's hilarious

So do you disagree, do you actually like the unboxing videos? What’s your favourite?

When he is not doing is Francis character he actually has quite a few good insightful vlogs on gaming (like commentary on different consoles or the crap the gaming industry sometimes get up to)

I hope that when I am an older fart that I would at least have the interest to catch up with modern pop culture.

Hell, some people I know over 45 just do not give a shit about the electronic age. I forced my father to play TETRIS on the gameboy and he nearly had a fit. He said that when he shut his eyes all he could see was falling blocks.

I hope I catch up with the VR Generation 40 years from now without going into a coma.

That’s not Nina Totenberg’s job at NPR though, she’s typically the legal affairs correspondent with NPR, and is generally pouring over Supreme Court rulings. I find it rather strange that NPR chose her to do this interview actually.

They do have people like her, who do keep up with pop culture though, and it’s very strange hearing a 60+ year old talking about the newer indie/pop albums of note. Even stranger still that they quite often have good reviews of them. Since the stereotype is that newer music sucks to older generations.

Pretty funny video though, because it’s so weird to hear her talking about a PS4, I’m so used to hearing her talking about affirmative action, LBGT rights, money in politics, etc….

Hmm, just out of curiosity, does a DJ have to involve music? Because Nina only does interviews/commentary. NPR has 3 different channels, 2 are for Classical and Jazz, and the 3rd is 24/7 news (at night it’s BBC, which rocks). I was just curious if the term DJ still applied, and if not, what’s the more appropriate terminology, because I’ve never actually thought about whether she’s a DJ or not haha. Makes me laugh thinking about it though.

It’s hilarious to think she had a PS4 on there. I’ve been listening to NPR (exclusively) for years, mainly because News in America is so devoid of impartiality and substance. Really like NPR/BBC though.
