Is this the greatest video game voice cast, ever?

Make no mistake; I have absolutely no interest in the Elder Scrolls Online whatsoever, and I think that the subscription model for games is an outdated, outmoded one. Just about every single subscription-based MMO released in the past decade has ended up going free-to-play in one micro-transaction-supported way or another, and I don’t see this one being any different, even with The Elder Scrolls name attached to it. That said, it does have just about the very best voice cast in any game ever made.

Check it out.

  • John Cleese plays Cadwell an “endearingly mad” lost soul.
  • Bill Nighy portrays a merchant prince, High King Emeric.
  • Kate Beckinsale is Queen Ayrenn, the leader of the Aldmeri Dominion and Queen of the High Elves and absolutely not a vampire.
  • Alfred Molina takes is a wily old wizard and politician Abnur Tharn, head of the Empire’s Elder Council.
  • Lynda Carter plays Azura, the Daedric Princess of Dusk and Dawn from Skyrim.
  • Michael Gambon lends his voice to  The Prophet, a mysterious blind man who guides the player through their journey to retrieve their soul.
  • Malcolm McDowell plays is the nasty Molag Bal, an evil Daedric god.
  • Peter Stormare plays Jorunn the Skald King.
  • Jim Ward voices Mannimarco, a renegade High Elf wizard exiled from the realm for raising the dead and the world’s most powerful necromancer.
  • Jennifer Hale appears in the role of Lyris Titanborn, a Nord half-giant, who, along with the Prophet, aids the player on their journey..
  • Kevin Michael Richardson is Sai Sahan a noble martial artist and master swordsman.

Just John Cleese and Bill Nighy has me sold, but the rest of the incredibly talented, primarily British cast makes it even more incredible. Possibly worth giving the game a play, for roughly 30 days until the included month’s subscription runs out.

The Elder Scrolls Online is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One in June this year, with a PC and Mac release the month previous.

Fable 3 tops that. A pity the game had no solid direction.

But we all know that Mass Effect tops everything else and a close second is

This MMORPG is going to suck so bad. Just another game moving with the times I suppose.
If they could not get Skyrim to work on the PS3 then the public will be BETA testing this game for the next 4 years like Final Fantasy 14. It seems to be a working model considering gamers do not give a flying fig about buying broken products. They would rather pay full retail to test the game.

I dont agree regarding the subscription based model.
I hate the F2P model, littered with micro transactions, constant lure of pay to get more, pay for ez mode, pay for this item, pay for this bag etc, it doesnt feel like an immersive game anymore, it feels like a watered down experience.
I have no problem paying a monthly sub for a quality game, with good tech support and a constant stream of new content and updates when needed. And most importantly a complete game, all inclusive, no strings and no bullshit.

See guild wars 2 did it right, I never felt the lure to pay for anything, it was hidden there but never thrown in your face.
I did lose interest in it unfortunately, just never gripped me enough.

Sure GW does prove you dont need a monthly sub to release a quality game.
Sub games are generally higher quality, in most cases, at least the experience feels that way, maybe its just you fooling yourself as you are paying so you feel you need to be getting more?

I dont mind paying monthly for a real quality experience, sure I would prefer not to, of course, but if paying means I get that much more of an awesome game, then hell I can afford R150 a month for a hobby.

I was full addict with WoW for 6 months literally 10-18 a day. Was a real problem. I kinda like playing casually now. I spend my weekends outdoors fishing, hiking, geocaching, skiing etc. I only log on during the week and play for an hour here and there. I never want to be that into a game ever again.

I played WoW for 3-4 years, 1 year as full addict, I would do anything to play, I was what you could call a “hardcore raider”, if thats a term you use.
Shit I used to make excuses and deals with the GF to leave me alone so I could raid lol, i neglected a lot to pay!
Right now my life doesnt allow me to play an mmo, so I am kinda bummed I wont be able to start ESO when it launches, but if things change I will pick it up first thing. dont think I would ever have the time to go full addict again, but im pretty sure I will try 🙂

Guild Wars is the only MMO to pull that off correctly. The microtransactions don’t actually give you an edge either.

actually, SWTOR does not give you the edge in their F2P model too.

Problem is, the models and looks that you get from the Market looks 1000x better than the boring shit you pickup…

If you do not care about the models and looks then F2P will be a big win for you.

Yeah, my problem is I’ve never been able to get back into SWTOR after I the beta was over… I just played those starting areas way too may times that I can’t even force myself to do it again.

I have a similar problem with WoW… I can’t level new characters, I’ve done all the areas too many times and can’t get beyond the lvl 20 or so areas even if I’m using mass amounts of dungeons to level.

Have to agree with you there. F2P always becomes pay to win!

I am actually for a Paid MMO model.

You know howmany cool shit you can buy on the SWTOR market?

One thing that PISSES me off from a F2P model is that you wont get a cool addon or a very awesome model look for free. The stuff looks ugly and dull and if you want it to look cooler, you have to pay something like $5-$10 for it.

That is in EVERY F2P model. I would rather pay $15 per month and get cool and new shit… On the end of the day, you will pay more than the subscription if you want new shit.

Maybe on the long run a F2P model will work out cheaper but for me, I actually got more bored of a F2P MMO than a paid monthly sub model MMO.
