There’s more than one zombie game on the way that has players surviving legions of the undead while crafting exotic weapons from a boat oar, a car battery and the rotting corpse of a midget. A peculiar sub-genre to say the least, but one that has several fans. Dead Island 2 is indeed looking like the bomb that is about to blow up, which you can see in action after the jump.
Ah, good ol’ Los Angeles. I’ve been there a couple of times already, and it was readily apparent to me that the game would be set in the state of California when the debut cinematic trailer dropped and featured zombie athletics along Venice Beach. “In the debut gameplay trailer, sunshine meets bloody melee violence once again, this time in the sunny realms of California,” Deep Silver said in a PR release.
Dead Island 2 picks up the Dead Island and Escape Dead Island storyline several months after the events on the Banoi islands. The United States military has put the Golden State under full quarantine which, for some, is a dream come true with a promise of a fresh start. California’s newfound bloody paradise is an action-packed playground featuring the acclaimed, seamless multiplayer for up to eight players who cooperate, compete or simply coexist in a truly social, new-gen multiplayer experience.
Unlike the sombre tone of the first game, Dead Island 2 looks like it’s going to have a far more cartoonishly violent reaction to the zombie apocalypse. And really, I’m quite fine with that. The game is looking solid, and hopefully this one can work some more magic in the co-op section, a feature that made an otherwise tame debut game rather special when you dragged some friends along with you.

I’m Playing Dead Island and Riptide atm, It doesn’t have any sombre Feel, at least to me… It was only that trailer…. Regardless, It feels like Borderlands with Zombies, Especially Riptide, If DI 2 can capture more of that frantic combat, it could be hella fun.

Flawed in execution, but Fun nonetheless. Definetely buy if on sale, You can often buy the Franchise pack for under $10 on steam.
Gameplay is a lot like Borderlands, but focused on Melee combat. The Weapons and crafting is fun. And the little bit of story there is, is essentially an amalgam of every Zombie cliche in a post Romero world…. I’d give it 7/10 for effort.

Love how this game (and everyone in general) looks forward to a zombie apocalypse these days.
I’d probably laugh at all the newbs crying for mommy, only then proceeding to lose my sh*t.
It looks like a kitchen knife and an AA battery is all I need to kick ass. Seems legit…

Will the game be as frustrating as the first game? Will level design be better? I would like Zombies + Assassins Creed feeling to a game where you have more epic options for hiding, planning… and killing!
