Kaz claims he was restricted by the PS3, plus GT5 sparks gallery

GT5Sparks

GT5’s supreme overlord, Kazunori Yamauchi, has started the week of with a bang by claiming that his dream was restricted by the PS3 and that he wasn’t able to deliver the product that he dreams of.

This could be taken it two ways really with the cynics claiming that Kaz is just trying to apportion blame for a lacklustre product or the fans who will claim that Kaz is merely a perfectionist and nothing will ever be good enough for him.

[pullquote]With Gran Turismo 5 we’ve made it as clean and beautiful as possible within the confines of the space we’re given – but of course there’s a lot more that we want to put in. – Kazunori Yamauchi[/pullquote]I very much believe it is the latter and people like Kaz can never be fully satisfied with the end result, all the better for us though.

But it’s also pretty apt that this story comes out on the same day as these new screenshots and video that show the dynamic sparks that fly off the vehicles when you grind the up against the wall.

The sparks and smoke clouds are amazing but the damage is woeful, hopefully there is an off switch for that if this is the final damage that we will be seeing.

    He should have made it for the PC then and would not have been so restricted.

    I think it’s a good think that he is restricted, otherwise this game will NEVER release.

    Like I always say that our consoles are almost due to be replaced by shiny new FULL HD models.

    @SA_int: This is a PlayStation series, not a PC series. That statement isn’t even worth more text.

    @bokka1: Probably! lol

    @Steve: Most likely! It’s a problem of perfectionists.

    @Fox1: We’ll have another 4-6 years with our current consoles. I, for one, am happy about that. It’s taken a while for this generation to really get going.

    I think that it looks pretty decent. The first part, scraping along the edge of the track was well done, but when he went backwards, the t-bone on his car should have killed the driver and damaged the car beyond being able to drive. Both would make for a bad videogame, but the damage should have been more severe for sure.

    Bottom line is to wait and see what it really plays like. I for once am VERY excited to have this on my PS3. ^_^
