Later this week, one of my most anticipated PS3 games makes its way to local retail shelves; LittleBigPlanet 2, sequel to Media Molecule’s exceptional Play.Create.Share title. While some found the title to be a bit boring, and Sackboy to have a bit of a floaty jump, they’ve obviously never played it co-operatively with 3 other people.
Like it’s predecessor, LBP2 will allow users to create their own levels – only this time in a much more dynamic manner. Pretty much any genre of game you can think of can be ably forged within the title. When you complete the game’s story mode you might be fooled in to believing you’ve completed the whole game. Kevin Butler, VP of Infinite Infinity, is here to in his inimitable style tell you that you haven’t. He does seem to take the hyperbole just a little too far though; As good as LBP2 is, nothing – and I mean nothing – could be better than bacon-wrapped cupcakes.
