Apparently Guerilla Games hates loading screens, so much so that is has become apparent that the company wants to get rid of them completely.
According to both Steven Ter Heide and Herman Hulst from from Guerilla Games the loading screens are either
“loading times are pretty much goneâ€
or
“Literally everything is streamed now.â€
So they are either gone or going but both ways are good news for gamers so kudos to them for ensuring the storyline isn’t disturbed by loading screens.
I remember thinking back to GTAIV when Rockstar announced it wouldn’t have loading screens and thinking that it would be pretty much impossible, however the idea itself is pretty simple really as all they do is load up the next mission during the cut scenes to ensure the game just flows.
My Killzone 3 time at E3 was unfortunately still load screen enabled but I am happy to say it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the game so I can’t say I am that phased either way.

What happened to quality? You know back in the day, you would get a big box, as well as a manual AND loading screens. All of these attempts to cut corners and lower the budgets are ridiculous.
This is a really cheap attempt at saving some $$$.

It’s better than that “disc-scratching fail that is the RRODing failbox… yeah I know it can also install some games now… but it’s still a stupid ugly fail box”. /end fanboi rant
