While 2016 we heavily celebrated CS:GO as the big esports winner in South Africa, the title has to go to FIFA in 2017 after a major push for the esport. Kwesé Gamer, the company at the helm of the FIFA push, started back at rAge 2016 with their successful FIFA event and has grown on their FIFA presence since then. Today, Kwesé Gamer announced that the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 will be live streamed through their channels.

The World Cup will be taking place at the Central Hall Westminster in London, United Kingdom, with the Grand Finals taking place on August 18th. Kwesé will be streaming the action live to their Facebook page and the Kwesé Website. The action is already underway with the quarter-finals taking place today and the semi-finals kicking off tomorrow. The top 32 players in the World are working their way to the Grand Final on both Xbox One and Playstation 4 to see who will be crowned the World Champion of 2017. The first place prize is $200,000 and a trip for two to the next FIFA Best Awards, an awards ceremony which features the Best football players from around the world.

“The cash prize is massive, but every FIWC champion really wants one thing – to meet their football idols! At our new annual football award ceremony, our FIWC champion will get to pose for photos with the brightest stars in football, share a few words on tactics with top coaches and even play exhibition matches against football icons,” FIFA explained on the official FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 website.

FIFA is slowly becoming the best choice for the ongoing push to bridge the gap in South Africa. With both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates showing interest in FIFA, it’s an achievement for all of those interested in taking esports to a respectable level in South Africa. If you’re a fan of FIFA Football, then this World Cup final is not to be missed.
