More esports celebrities are making their way down to South Africa for rAge this year, and this time we’re being treated to a casting duo well-known within the CS:GO world. Lauren ‘Pansy’ Scott and Jason ‘Moses’ O’Toole will be heading down to Johannesburg to headline the broadcasting team for the ESL African Championships taking place on October 6th to 8th at the rAge expo. It’s unclear, as of now, which South African broadcasters will be joining them, but the ESL Afriacn broadcasts which have taken place at the Kwese Studios have been top notch from the beginning.
Pansy and Moses are two decorated casters who come from a lengthy background of esports. Pansy has been involved in esports and broadcasting for 10 years, and has remained a prominent female figure within the competitive gaming world. She has been an ESL broadcaster for the longest of times and has ticked a number of titles off including her latest appearance at the Gamescom PUBG Invitational where she had to pull all the tricks in the book to make sure the audience remained entertained during the long breaks and technical difficulties.
Moses began his career as a competitive player in North America at the tender age of 16 playing Counter-Strike 1.6. Moses eventually broke away from competitive play and, wanting to remain in esports, decided to pick up shoutcasting. Moses has remained a prominent figure in the casting world as a commentator, analyst and even host. He’s currently part of Room On Fire, a freelance casting agency headed up by Semmler and Anders who pick some of the top casting talent around the world to join their organization. The duo of Pansy and Moses have featured a number of times in professional competitions and have slowly become personal favourites of mine.
Kwesé Gamer is boasting the largest stand at rAge this year and after several months of qualifiers, the top four teams will be competing for a large prize pool and decide who the best African CS:GO team is. It’s unclear which four teams will be attending, and we will find out as their second qualifier comes to a close in the upcoming weeks.
