DHORSE

Have you played Metal Gear Solid V yet? The game is phenomenal! Seriously, just look at that header image. Who can say no to airlifting a faithful horse (or anything that isn’t firmly bolted down for that matter) via the revolutionary Fulton system? Nobody! MGSV is amazing, allowing you to do that and many other awesome things. If  you wont take my word for it, then let me give you some perspective quick; Geoff likes it… HE REALLY LIKES IT! Have you met Geoff before? He never likes anything, ever. So put that in your electronic cigar and smoke it, and watch those twelve hours fly by in a matter of seconds. Have no idea what I’m going on about? Of course not because you haven’t played The Phantom Pain yet!

Sorry, it is rather rude of me to judge so hastily. Maybe you’ve been avoiding the game because you’re not up to date with the crazy lore. Well friend, you can no longer use that excuse. Here’s a recap of all you need to know story wise before playing MGSV, all in a single minute (via Game Informer). Oh and obvious advice, if you don’t want anything spoiled from Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peacewalker, just don’t watch the following clip…

Poor Snake/Big Boss! He had to deal with the original Boss in MGS3, and later, some rather impressive AI of her in Peacewalker. Also, how does any of this make any sense – proper, lifelike AI in the seventies? HOW?

I don’t know, I suppose I should also be asking how the iDroid in The Phantom Pain is more advanced than my iPhone. What is the answer Kojima? How is this all possible? TELL US EVERYTHING!

Ok my rant is done. Go play MGSV already dammit. Don’t talk to me until you have! With or without knowledge of the overall story though, it’s a ton of fun!

I’m like 22 hours in and only at mission 17 at the moment… Dont mistake this statement as a good thing, because its not. This game is just too damn long, and so damn repetitive (capturing all those never ending general missions I’M LOOKING AT YOU!!!)!!! For an $80 000 000 game it doesnt have a lot of spunk.

Im also on mission 17 lol I have been dicking around this lovely sandbox for sometime.

44hours in at 25%. That is already 9 COD games. IM LOVING IT, doing the missions over again has great replay value because of the endless ways one can approach the missions.

I just upgraded the helicopter with armour and missiles. My heli drop is now in the red zones thanks to the game remembering all structural damage (something that Far Cry needed) MUSIC pumping, Gatling gun spinning and bodies flying everywhere 🙂

Going all FUBAR is darn fun. Sometimes leopard crawling to the target is also just as fun.

The game is FUN, and after 44hours already you have to take into account that GTAV was only 40hours.

Right now Im at work and Im thinking to myself how Im going to capture the Great Bear, now that I have unlocked Quiets COVER ME ability Ill give her the trank rifle while I try and trank the bear while avoiding its attacks.

Any game that makes me think about it while away is doing something right. I think its better than Far Cry.

The narrative this time is sorely lacking. I’m still trying to figure out where they spent the $80 000 000. Probably on the mountains of dialogue they gave Sutherland in studio time./sarcasm.

Stun arm and tranq from quiet is what im thinking that should work. You stun arm the bear and while you run around frantically to recharge the arm she can shoot the bear with tranq bulle. errrr darts? Plus screw the narrative. I was like OMFG he spoke afrikaans. HE… SPOKE… AFRIKAANS!

Snake Eater was the most memorable game. Big Boss owns Liquid Snake.

I also have Silicon Knights remake of 1 on the Game Cube. After jumping to the XBOX I missed out on the others.

All I know is that the Narrative of Metal Gear should be taken very lightly, its just there for style.

But why hire a AAA Hollywood actor if he never talks? lol I actually like the fact that he never talks, it adds a form of PTSD, as for those blank stares between him and Quiet… gives me the chills. Its very moody.

In my mind I dont give a hoot about the back story and the cause. Its all about the relasionship between Quiet and Big Boss. Old War Dogs that are about to be put out of their misery like old Yeller.

You do know this isnt the last MGS, right???(story line wise I mean)… They probably explained the entire story in DEPTH through out MGS 1, 2 and 4 already. I just played MGS V to see how Kojima envisioned it.

I’ll put them in chronological order they should be played in.. And no I’m not gonna add in the PSP ones.

      MGS3
      Peace Walker
      MGS 5
      MGS1 (or Twin Snakes)
      MGS2
      MGS 4

Hi I’m Jason And I am addicted to MSG V…0_0…..To be honest I can understand why some people may find it a bit repetitive. Its gameplay is a winner for me. The Actually story elements only come alive towards 40% I would say. I’m about 50% in, after about 65hours!
