The Legend of Zelda not launching with Switch 2

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is fulfilling a long-standing promise from Nintendo, who haven’t delivered a new Zelda experience in what feels like ages. The Wii U never got its new entry, and is waiting in the wings with Switch for Breath of the Wild to finally break the drought. But the rains of Hyrule are still a ways off, as it seems Nintendo isn’t planning on launching their flagship sequel with their new console.

A report from Nintendo tipster Emily Rogers and Eurogamer (the two sources who nailed the Switch to a tee months before launch) have both indicated that Breath of the Wild will not be launching in March with the Nintendo Switch. Rogers reports that the game is in final localisation stages, which will continue until the end of 2016. After that, Nintendo apparently intends to put the game through extensive testing, which will take between “four to six months”.

If accurate, it means we could be waiting up to June for Breath of the Wild. That’s a long way off the presumed (but, importantly, never confirmed) Q1 release window, especially given the launch timing for the Switch. Nintendo reportedly wants to ensure that the game launches with no (or as few as possible) issues, which is a massive undertaking in a large open-world title. They’re also weary of showing more of the game, as they expect fans to tire of seeing the same, polished vertical slice that they’ve demoed since E3.

All of that adds up to the likely reality that that we’re still over half a year away from embarking on a new adventure with Link, with is bittersweet. I’m glad Nintendo wants to give this sequel all the care in the world, but excuse me for not wanting to get lost in it just a little earlier.

Well, that makes 2 of the team, now I’m just waiting for Geoff to add a bunch of 0s where they don’t belong.

Now I’m going to scrutinize every article instead of just glancing through them, so I can make fun of mistakes.

“Nintendo isn’t planning”. Shouldn’t it be “aren’t planning”?

Nintendo is one company, hence the singular “isn’t”.

If there were multiple companies, then “aren’t” would be used.

I bought a WIIU for Zelda, I sold it giving up hope on that happening. Switch wont get my money until there is a new zelda and a wealth of games n their system.
