Winter Veil has begun in the Heroes of the Storm Nexus, and it comes packed with a whole host of goodies. These extras include free stimpacks (if you play enough), a good few skins and such in the store, and even a limited-time treasure goblin mount. Take a look at this neat trailer, which really captures the spirit of this holiday event…

We’re not here to talk about Winter Veil though. No, we’re here to discuss Lunara, the first daughter of Cenarius, who hails from the Warcraft franchise. She’s just cantered into the Nexus, and is ready to assassinate everything with poison.

Most dryads embrace the peaceful and whimsical existence found in Kalimdor’s enchanted wildlands, but in the case of Lunara, peace was never an option. Furious with the denizens of Azeroth for their callous and destructive treatment of nature, but forbidden from interference by her father Cenarius, Lunara now aims to unleash nature’s fury upon the unsuspecting heroes of the Nexus!

Here’s a spotlight and overview of her various abilities…

Basic Abilities

Natures Toxin (trait)

Your Basic Attacks and damaging Abilities poison their target, dealing 71 (34 + 4% per level) damage a second for 3 seconds. Every additional application increases the duration by 3 seconds, up to a maximum of 9 seconds.

Noxious Blosson (Q)

After 0.5 seconds, cause an area to explode with pollen dealing 351 (167 + 4% per level) damage.

Crippling Spores (W)

Enemies currently afflicted by Nature’s Toxin have its duration increased by 3 seconds and are slowed by 40% decaying over 3 seconds.

Wisp (E)

Spawn a Wisp to scout an area. Can be redirected once active. Lasts 45 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

Thornwood Vine (R)

Send forth vines that deal 360 (171 + 4% per level) damage to all enemies in a line. Can hold 3 charges.

Leaping Strike (R)

Leap over an enemy, slowing them by 80% for 0.35 seconds and attacking for 540 (256 + 4% per level) damage. Has 2 charges.

Lunara

I played Lunara a few weeks back at BlizzCon, and I quite liked her. She does certainly lack mobility (if Leaping Strike isn’t chosen as the Heroic Talent), but she more than makes up for it with her incredible damage output.

If you’ve been dying to try her out, now you can. Trust me, there is nothing more satisfying than spreading poison through the enemy team and watching them all scramble away desperately… only to die seconds later!

  1. I think Lunara could ‘Eclipse’ other heroes.

Sounds like Mirana, Enchantress, and Venomancer had some weird kind of orgy and this was the result :S

Saw her in action a couple of times. Looks very strong on the offensive, and very evasive.
