MAG is just about to launch and to mark this momentous occasion we have a brand new launch trailer and a couple of reviews.
The recently completed beta wasn’t unanimously accepted as being a good title but it did show some good ideas and it still has the possibility of being a good game after all.

I can’t help notice how you expressed your impressions of the game as … ‘good’ … no excellent, brilliant, mind numbing, etc. just good?
really cause that’s just disappointing, I was looking forward to this game.

I was SO amped for this game until I read your review of the BETA (great review btw) after everything you said I was still gonna buy it until I read about the LAG that SA gamers may have to deal with 🙁
I’m still thinking of buying MAG but I just want to know exactly how bad the lag will be for us here in SA and which servers will we be playing on? EU? random?
I’m looking forward to Nick’s final review of MAG once its released here!

Hey, the lag is tough to gauge. I would have heavily recommended that you should give the BETA a go, maybe wait for a demo if they are going to release one.
Again, I was playing on a 4mb Unshaped and the lag wasnt fantastic, wasn’t bad really, but I found that I had more fun and a smoother experience out of Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2

Thanks for the speedy reply! I just dunno what to do cos I got a friend coming back from the UK in 3 weeks and I’m thinking of getting some games. (I got my PS3 for Christmas and only have FIFA10 and LittleBigPlanet so far) I’m a PC gamer and I love my mouse and KB so I only really want PS3 exclusive games. So far I’m looking at getting Uncharted2 and Killzone2 but I see they selling MAG for 35pounds which is like R420, so I’m very tempted!

I don’t know, I really can’t say if you will enjoy the game or not. If you already play games like MW2 on your PC then I would actually suggest that you focus on getting single player games for you PS3 as it has some of the best exclusives out there for straight out offline gaming, MGS4, Uncharted 2 and so on
